A friend of mine built this exact bike about 10 years ago. Was pretty cool.

A childhood friend of mine has a 175 that’s been sitting against a pole in his dad’s barn rotting away for 20 years now. About ten years ago he brought it over to the house and actually got it to start and rode it around a little bit. I’ve tried to buy it off him but I can’t justify giving him more than $200 if that. It’s rough and eBay wasn’t super plentiful with used parts last I checked.

Did you ever ride it? For some reason after looking at this I am really tempted to build one just for the hell of it. I see rollers all the time. I’m worried it would be a complete turd though.

Ya, it was a fun bike. He built it for being able to ride at a slow pace with his young (at the time) boys and wife and not worry about it getting hot, but still a capable bike of having fun on when needed. But he had other full size bikes to truly ride. I wouldn’t do it for your main bike, but it’s fine when used in the right application.

I have an 81 175, super cool bike, I even Road into my wedding on it!
Mine is in pretty nice shape, I don’t ride it very often, but it always starts up and put a smile on my face.

Thank you! I just took this photo of it two days ago beside my PE250 before putting them into hibernation for the winter.
