Would anyone know if there is an MX or YZ 250 cylinder that will fit on 72` DT2 Enduro cases? Bore and stroke are the same but I wasn`t sure if the newer model case design and bolt pattern were the same.

Its been so long since I messed with the DT2's and MX2's I'm not 100% sure but think they will swap, check a parts book and see if the base gasket is the same.

The first couple years of the YZ250 (the strap tank ones including the first monoshock), the motor was based on the old DT1 motor.

In 1974, the DT250A used a new motor with different cases and the MX250 from that year onwards and I think the 1975 YZ250 onwards used those cases. I don't think the later cylinders fit on the old DT1-DT2 and DT3 cases.

I can't remember what my wife told me 5 minutes ago, but I can remember 35 year old motorcycle stuff.

No wonder I drive her crazy!
