I do.

Did you happen to have a tip over in the first moto this weekend in 40+

Half a lap into the race.  I was lucky I didn’t get run over.  My wheels were stuck in that deep rut and I couldn’t kick the bike off.

Yeah you went down right in right in front of me. I was 721 on the kawi. Lined up to your right in the second moto.

I thought I remembered someone in this thread saying they have raced there. If I remember correctly you won 50+ first moto, how’d the second moto go.

I won that one, too.  The track was hammered in the 2nd moto because we were race 19.  I installed a Race Tech Gold Valve kit by myself last winter, and I really trust my bike when the track gets hammered.  How about that guy on the old Honda 2-stroke who was going like 20 seconds a lap faster than us?

Yeah I couldn’t imagine what that track was like in moto 19. LTM will really test your bike setup.

I’m still working on getting mine where I like it. I did the same thing and installed the gold valves over the winter. I’m coming back after 20+ years off the bike. Last years race in November there was first race back and wow, should have chose an easier track to get back into it. But then a broken collarbone in February slowed the pace down. I find that racerech wants me to run to soft of a spring. What weight are you and what springs?

Yeah that guy may have been in the wrong class. lol.

I felt good about my lap times right up until you see his.

Congrats on the 1-1. Great for the Kawi bucks.

2025 KX450 with vortex ECU, PC exhaust, full hinson, and pc water pump with 7.5 hours

Today i thought I had run out of gas landing from a large step up at the end of a 25 minute moto but still had a 1/4 tank. It almost put me over the bars as i landed wide open and bike just cut out. Yesterday it did the same thing coming out of tight sandy corner. Not sure what's going on. Anyone have this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you by chance run t4+ fuel?

This almost got me yesterday, I believe. 2024 with 25 hours, only ever had T4, and now the 4+ in it. Yesterday in practice bike cut out once or twice in a deep turn, strange stumble, but thought I just almost stalled due to my error…first moto it cut out once the gate, got it re fired, then it was cutting out and popping so bad I had to roll the last couple laps for safety sake.
I could wick the throttle on the stand and the bike would just “blaauuuuh” and nearly die.
Having read the recent T4+ stuff, I filled the bike up with 90 ethanol  free we use for my son’s bike, generator, etc. The bike ran perfectly fine. 100% back to normal.  I raced the second moto and did practice day afterwards and kept the tank full to flush out/dilute any remaining 4+.

I completely agree about the fork springs.  Prior to the revalve, I was running OEM .52 springs.  The specs from RT called for the stock .50s.  I felt like there wasn’t enough holdup with the stock springs, so I put one of the .52s in one side and kept the .50 in the other to split the difference.  I’m much happier now.  I felt like I could really charge at the bottom of that hill before the split lane where it was so rough.  If you want to try what I did, Kawasaki sells the .52 springs individually.

I revalved my shock last year at the same time.  I used the money I would have paid someone to do the work for me to buy the tools I needed to do it all myself, including a small nitrogen tank and regulator setup along with the RT no loss chuck.  Now I can service my own stuff over the winter without sending it out.  There are lots of good videos on YouTube that walk you through the suspension service process.  I used the one by ML to change the spring!

Yeah, at my weight they want me running a .48. I’ve got the stock .51 in there now. It felt ok, bottomed once on that table triple thing after the split lane. I was running a .51 and a .54 for .525 and I really liked that. I think I may go back to that and give it a shot, but we won’t be back on the bomber till next year.

I haven’t raced the classic in 20 years does it get beat up as bad? I may leave the .51 in and try it on the classic when they run in two weeks.

Also, make sure you’re comparing apples to apples.  The OEM springs are measured in Newtons/millimeter while many of the aftermarket springs are rated in kilogram/millimeter.  A 50n/mm is the same as a 5.1kg/mm spring.  It can be really confusing.

For reference, I’m 6’3” 215lbs w/o gear.

Yeah, it’s definitely confusing and I can see why suspension guys get paid good money. They can make or break a a good setup.

Are you racing the last race of the year?

That’s the plan.  Wabash Cannonball this weekend, then Lincoln Trail the next.  Hope the weather holds out.

Ive never been to wabash, worth the trip from Bloomington?

Weather isn’t looking great for next weekend at LTM but hopefully turns out nice. I’d really like to race the classic track after 20 years.

I have no idea how far it is from Bloomington, but they do a great job on track prep, and the track is really fun and safe with no do-or-die jumps.

I guess I should have asked if you’re talking Bloomington IN or Bloomington IL.

Calling all mechanics, help me diagnose.

20.3 hours regular oil and filter changes, every 2-3 hours

off the gate, normal power half way down the start straight power starts reducing to almost none. stopped the bike immediately pushed it back to the truck. Oil seems very runny through the site glass and black not necessarily milky.

Any thoughts?

Gonna need to drain that oil to know more. See what’s in it.
