Hi!
I have a YZ125 from 2022. I like riding the small bore, but am looking for a little bit of power and/or torque.
I see two viable options:
TMR 144
BEWO Stage 1
The price will be equal, but the BEWO will come with a cylinder head and complete exhaust to add.
Cons of the BEWO kit is probably shorter lifespan of piston and rings
Pros of the BEWO is the additional parts which allows me to keep a complete stock setup and a complete stage 1 setup as I have a spare stock cylinder.
Any recent 144 experiences out there?
No but how much for the 144 kit ? A mod stock bore yz125 with ignition is pretty fast . My 04 on 2 yr old bulk c12 hangs right there threw the mid
Following. And interested to hear about reliability.
I have a TMR 144 on my 06 YZ.
Bought the bike used and immediately framed it, so I never rode it with the stock bore.
First and foremost, Tom has amazing customer service and does great work.
The bike rips and sounds amazing.
FWIW, I ended up with a much richer jetting spec than his recommendation on 92/110 (50/190/CCL-3 or 4).
Ran 14/49 gearing for awhile and like it, the 13T CS has way too much wheelspin. Plenty of torque to run a 14. Just bumped to a 50T rear and its perfect.
He recommends pistons at 10 hrs. I took one (wossner forged dual ring) to 23hrs and it broke a ring land. Kind of a bummer but the bike is so fun, its worth it.
I really want to try the RV spec pipe and see how it runs.
Have you considered the 144 HGS pipe?
10 hrs does sound a bit lower than what I expected from the 144.
Prices of both options will be equal.

I thought they were hard to get in the US but looks like Bud racing can get them. Id be open to try one.
Ill probably push mine to 12-15 hrs since im not an A level rider, but I definitely found the limit.
Had my ‘14 KTM 150 SX cylinder ported and head cut by TMR. Better roll on power, meatier midrange, better top end, and doesn’t fall off a cliff on over rev. Worth the price.
Customer service was top notch. Jetting specs and other info has been spot on.
That’s an awesome bike - stand-alone 150.
Quite a bit of difference between yours and current 150/144s (or big bore 125s). KTM changed the 150 to a big bore 125 from ‘16 to present.
Stab the clutch & 18.8 ft lbs a Nice Sharp hit . Then rushes threw the Super long mid to 19.9 . Flat pull at 13k you quick shift on the wide mid . I heard is that thing legal a lot . Because the DBP has a Nasty barking rip. Like a cougar tangled in the power lines. A new coil trick I learned will produce 38% more jolt. Only 22 yr old bike to win a AX National title in 26. 22 yrs after its 1st national title. In dominate fashion
