If Ducati sourced TM carbed 125 / 144 2T motors from there Italian neighbors ( TM sells motors separately for the Carting industry) they probably could not make enough of them.

I saw this as well.  I forgot where I read it, but it is a one-off hand-made bike, look close at the motor, it is a Yamaha.

I’m not entirely sure why, but I believe that to be true.  I would love to see it.

 As I wrote at the time, I'd say they got enough money for the 450 Engine Package to make this quite an affordable 'thing'. That, they could get a considerable amount for, if they are selling it / them.

They put the whole motor package up for sale for the price of a brand new yz125…

The same company has been doing this with modern CRF chassis, usually KTM 125 engine though I think. First time Ducati looks great.
