The scoresheet tells the entire story. Anything beyond that is speculation. Barcia raced 250 outdoors for 4 seasons and had plenty of opportunities to pull it together for a title. Haiden won in his second season and backed it up.
Barcia’s 250 career isn’t comparable, and saying Deegan is Barcia 2.0 has zero merit.
As much as Deegan is the superior mx rider, Barcia is the superior 250 sx rider. By a good margin too
big fax , bam almost went perfect his title defence yr too , forgot wht race but i remember bam got tangled with the lapper & Kenny took the W tht night , the infamous bam after race meltdown but besides tht , bam 250 SX days especially when he became the man at geico was unmatched

True, but you are talking regional titles with half the competition. I don’t think that bridges the gap between Barcia and Deegan as far as comparisons are concerned.
I think saying Deegan is the next Barcia is more or less meant as an insult, but I can’t recall a two time outdoor champion on the 250s that didn’t have success in the 450 class once they moved to that class full time. I can name numerous two time regional sx champions that failed to garner “success” in the bigger class, with Barcia being one of them (success here being measured as titles).
It could be the case that Deegan won’t successfully transition to the 450s, but those so sure of it now have no basis for their confidence in that claim.
Throwing ball sport gotta hut hut hike and kick that throw ball at the goal net to get a touch score in one go team!
