Recently picked up a 2017 YZ250F. Noticing a clicking sound towards the rear of the bike.
Only Occurs when: Sitting down, getting off the bike, bouncing on seat, and when lifting bike up to put on the stand or taking off stand.
Bike also does feel a bit lower rear end height wise than usual.
There is no play in the wheel bearings and it is not an issue of chain slap. I performed a linkage bearing test: Bike was on the stand, wheel up and down motion, no sound present and nothing alarming. Nothing alarming in side by side wheel play either.
This occurs when there is a lighter rider on the bike too, so it is not a personal weight issue. I am currently clueless and any input would be greatly appreciated!
Service/ clean/ grease/ inspect the rear suspension, swingarm and linkage…being a used bike, a thorough teardown and inspection should be performed….
Broken spring?
Check your subframe bolts as well.
I felt this on my 25 kx450 and that was the issue, I had never had them loosen up before this.
It is a possibility, however it is not that bouncy. I am going to remove the rear shock and examine it. I will provide pics as soon as it removed. I am completely new to this though so I am not really sure what I am looking at/for.

Will do, thanks for the input.
I agree. I will remove the rear shock first to properly test out the swing arm and linkages to see if I can replicate the sound and thoroughly examine the bearings and bushings. Thanks for the input.
The spring contacting the collar can make a squeak/click noise if there is a little friction.

You could try spinning the spring or spraying the collar with silicone.
Ok thanks. Will give it a shot.
Linkage bearings needing to be redone. Figure I will next take apart the swingarm too.
Check the bearing or bushings in the shock.
