i dont know why this is even a debate..i bet dungey would even tell you he does not compare to the King...maybe he will one day, maybe not. my crystal ball is fucked up, so i cant tell ya...2010 the stars lined up and RD ruled, no doubt. But, to compare his one year to a decade of dominance is ridiculous! look how long RC was on top in SX, he ended up with, what, 48 wins or somethin..c'mon

Dude, you are looking dumber and dumber. Go on youtube and search "1996 AMA 250CC MOTOCROSS PART 1" then go to part 2, part 3 etc...Every 250cc National in 1996 is there. Mcgrath owned everyone that year. Your facts are distorted! MC owned Emig week in and week out.

Did you watch the last races, STEEL CITY sticks out in my mind, and then in 97 EMIG had 7 1-1 sweeps over MC infact MC never beat him that whole year!!!!
also, Emig didn't take to SX as fast as MC did so if you look at the facts (even though I will point out that MC is the alltime KING and thats fact)
BUT,,,,,,
Emig first year 250SX, 5th place, then then next year, 4th, then 3rd and then in 96, 2nd and then finally in 97, He beat MC and got the title. NO LUCK
dont cry about his zook and only 2 weeks to train, blah blah f-ing blah. Emig won and he whipped his ass! and 96 and 97 outdoor titles to!!!! I think in 97 he actually won 10 races that year and like Prince1 said, 7 1-1 sweeps!

then the pop can bongs and the rockstar lifestyle sunk him in the shitter!

Dungeony is way off from this kind of status yet. Lets see when the gate drops in Jan if Stewart, Reed, Whimdahm, and Villy show up, Ryan D will have a big wake up call

Didn't Emig get the title because MC refused to race Vegas in the dark with shitty lighting? It wasn't because he beat MC, he didn't even race against him that night. I believe LaRocco sat out too? Anyone else there that night?

Emigs first win.

'97 Emig was a badass and MC had done it all. Certainly the Zook wasn't a very good bike in '96, but, MC really wasn't motivated that year.

Blah, blah, blah about no testing? Yeah, testing is no big deal on a bike that he never rode in his life!! What was I thinking? Are you really that dumb to think testing and setting up a bike isn't important???

MC went 1-1 in more races in 1996 than Emig did in 97! The difference is that in 97" MC hated the bike so much that he only rode it at the races. Didn't even train during the week. Emig did ride and train in 96" and won the title due to bad luck for MC's off track incidents. MC STILL almost won the SX title in 97" and had it not been for a flat tire one race and stepping on a piece of glass and slicing his foot wide open right before the last race, Emig would have went down again.

I have the bar to bar 1997 video cassette baby! MC was a close second even with a flat at Charlotte!

Jeremy McGrath is:

- Ranked 1st on the all-time AMA Supercross Series win list with 72 career victories.

- Ranked 1st on the all-time AMA Supercross Series Championships list with seven titles.

- Ranked 1st on the all-time combined AMA Supercross/Motocross wins list with 89 career AMA national victories.

- Ranked 1st with the single-season record of 14 AMA Supercross wins set in 1996.

- Ranked 1st with longest winning streak in AMA Supercross with 13 consecutive victories in 1996.

- Ranked 1st (tied with Ricky Carmichael) for most AMA Supercross/Motocross championships with 8 total. (McGrath 7 SX, 1 250MX/Carmichael 2 SX, 3 125MX, 3 250MX)

- Ranked 1st with most consecutive seasons with an AMA Supercross win at nine (Jeff Ward second with eight).

- Ranked 1st on all-time AMA 125 Regional Supercross wins list with 13.

Additional stats

- McGrath is one of only two riders (the other is Ron Lechien) to win AMA Supercross races with three manufacturers. McGrath won AMA Supercross events with Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha. (Does not include 125 Supercross).

- Raced in 144 AMA Supercross races and won exactly half of them (.500 winning percentage). (Does not include 125 Supercross).

- Raced in 95 AMA Motocross Nationals and won a total of 17 (.179 winning percentage).

- AMA Supercross/Motocross combined: 239 total races with 89 wins (.372 career winning percentage). (Does not include 125 Supercross).

- AMA 125 West Region Supercross: 31 career races with 13 wins (.419 winning percentage).

- McGrath's nationals wins by manufacturer: Honda, 60; Yamaha, 27; Suzuki 2. (Does not include 125 Supercross).

Never bring up Ryan Bungey in the same sentence as McGrath again. Unless the sentence is, "Ryan Bungey cannot fill McGrath's shoes" or something similar. hahaha

I'm diggin' what your posting....but this line above is incorrect. RC had a total of 150 combined wins under his belt between SX and MX.

Dungey would destroy MC in outdoors, in SX probably not. When MC strated to win Bradshaw quit as well as Stanton. Emig wasnt a threat (SX) till 1996. In SX Jeremy has the most numbers by a mile but not the hardest comp. So OVERALL in a season if you were to total the points from SX and MX DUNGEY would easily win.

anyone who thinks showtime couldnt run outdoors is crazy...Emig deserved his sx title and his 2 250 outdoor titles< but in no way did he spank MC in any of those seasons. 96 came down to the last race, emig had to go 1-1 and did..97 sx was close but fro dog pulled it out..97 outdoors was probably emigs best season, he had the starts dialed and holeshot almost everything...Jeremys accomplishments indoors make it seem like he didnt do much outdoors, but he has 2 des nations titles a national championship and 17 overalls??? that dont suck

I hate what he did, SX only contracts!!! He could not win in MX at a regular basis so he chose to only race half the year, anyone else at the time would have taking alot of grief. What if LUSK just would have done only sx, or Henrey look at all his MX injurys, LaRocco, etc. His legacy on the sport of Motocross is he didnt race it and chose to only do SX. And those stats are from 2003, Bubba has a much better winning percentge than MC at SX. Every time he didnt win he had an excuse it wasnt the fact that he got beat , it was the bike, i didnt feel like training, etc, He is a unreal rider but the fact that he turned his back on MOTOCROSS, I cant look past that. Thank god for RC!!!! P.S. at this point in the career DUNGEY is leaps and bounds better than MC.

Prince - Haha, you're probably one of the very few moto enthusiasts that isn't a fan of MC. If that very small list of negative stats outweighs everything that MC has accomplished, then there's just no convincing you.

Did he pee on you at a bar? kick you when you were down? not sign your poster at a SX? Just curious how you can talk so much smack on a great rider who made history, bringing the masses to a sport that needed a push in the right direction. MC is leaps and bounds over RD, he will tell you that himself, but RD will be great and he's on the right path with becoming the next MC. People love MC and people love RD, that's what the sport needs.

Never bring up Ryan Bungey in the same sentence as McGrath again. Unless the sentence is, "Ryan Bungey cannot fill McGrath's shoes" or something similar. hahaha

Any other great comparisons between someone just starting their premier class career and one of the greatest rider's of all time? Jesus RD hasn't even scratched the surface of what he's gonna accomplish. How about we compare him to som eone he actually racing against, like RV2. Oops that's just a landslide for the Boss.
