What was up with that section that claimed 981 in SMX Next, Beaumer, Marchbanks, and (any others)? Every one of the videos seemed to throw them forward and cause them to flip while still connected to the bike (Mcadoo Style). I've never seen a rhythm section cause identical crashes like that.

Hammaker had a big one there in practice too.

That section was incredibly technical and complicated to get the timing down and I have to say it is the most technical section that I have ever seen in my 40 years on the circuit.

The riders couldn’t just peg it and go WFO like floating through woops. They had to slow down to do the short tabletop then speed up to tabletop to tabletop then slow down to double then speed up to triple.

I was thinking they might be able to hit the tabletop and jump the next jump or two but there wasn’t enough room to slow down for the next jumps.

That rhythm was awesome but with the rain they got before the race made it rut up more than I’m sure they anticipated.

Slow, peaky rhythms are great. I hope due to the soft, rutty conditions they had to deal with doesn’t deter them away from doing more of that. I think the slower speeds are ultimately safer than clicking 3rd out of the corner and going 3-4-4 along the side lines.

I watched the tractor that tilled to dirt in the flatter sections and at the front of it had a bunch of spinning till blades that stuck straight down roughly a foot to 10 inches into the dirt then the roller so it was tilled pretty deep.

Soo, a section that took either great skill to do in race speed or brains to adjust speed to skill.

Sounds like oldschool sx to me, separation by track.

People are constantly say the tracks are to easy and should be challenging ….. this was a 150% challenging and difficult section to master.

There Playoff guys are the best of the best so they all have the skills to adapt to the challenges.

agree with you guys. Rhythms have been totally cookie-cutter for years and years now and the riders know exactly the speeds they must do to hit them properly. this track was all sorta haphazard with the placement and it was rad as hell. I know someone will say "too many injuries!" and I agree it sucked, but if EVERY track presented riders with varying rhythm placements, they'd not hit them at regular speeds until they fully mastered the section. I loved it!
