Just spit balling here but everyone always complains about 250 SX with most wanting to go to a full schedule. I have a way that the powers that be could dip their toes in the water of change without throwing everything out. As of right now all riders who are eligible must pick a coast and stick with it.
New way: If you scored in the top 5 of any coast the previous year you are "allowed to" ride both coasts and the only way you are forced out is if you win championships in 2 separate years.
This would keep rookies on a limited schedule to learn the pro game and if there is a 450 logjam like there is now guys could stay down until they have a decent seat open. It would give the better and more experienced guys a chance to race a whole season on 250's so the first time they have to race 31 races it isn't in the shark tank of the 450 class.
I'm tempted to suggest an east coast champ, west coast champ and a national 250 SX champ but that's almost like everyone gets a trophy.
paid jobs
privateers can not afford racing on both coasts
make a change to full season like that and riders and mechanics would be fired and abandoned.
That's the primary reason I don't like a complete national series. This would only be 10 riders max allowed to race both coasts. Only the elite of the class would be eligible.
Full season for 250 and an esx250 class like mxgp splitting coasts
Doesn't need to be fixed it works as it is. The regional set up gives privateers a chance to compete in a series at the highest level, gives rising stars an entry level series and gives teams an opportunity to attract sponsors with successful seasons/ titles. I don't understand why Pulp is so anti.
Only thing that should be changed: less shootouts, with one east vs west showdown in vegas.
