Project : Beast Mode **MXoN update**

6/29/2025 8:43am

Little update - rear brake system installed, new rear brake line guides, oem carb hoses, a few graphics & the Anchor Tape frame grip tape. Also got the full waffle grips on & safety wire tied. It’s really starting to take shape now! Also going to be doing the Works Connection holeshot device today too. And look who’s on the package display! 🦈

Thanks for the compliments guys! A little weekend recap - woke up at 4am to hit the road for Redbud to get there early! Walked in with the bike as the gates opened and I had tons of people stop me and either ask for pictures of the bike or ask if it was Eli’s actual bike. That’s a pretty good compliment itself! Met up with Pete from Legends & Heroes and had the bike for all to see. At the end of the 450 moto I was able to wheel the bike back into the pits. I waited in front of the 450 team trailer for over an hour and no sign of ET3 anywhere. Finally the team manager came up and told me how great my bike looks and how much the appreciated me building it to show them but with the team morale being very very low (losing 3 engines will do that) they said Eli wasn’t coming out of his motor home and he was NOT in a good mood with his results for the day. Completely understandable. On the bright side Eli’s mechanic Josh did give me the air box cover from his bike! Maybe I had too high of expectations set and maybe I should have had the bike waiting at the trailer before the moto was over. Ultimately fell short of my goal which was having Eli check it out and sign the front number plate. I’m bummed but also pretty happy I had the opportunity to go this far with it. Your bike looks amazing. Great job!

It looks like you went with a chrome finish on the graphics; who did them for you?

Thank you! I had D’Cor Visuals do the graphics. Same company who does the teams graphics also. And yes that’s a chrome base to it. I loved how the bikes looked for the 2023 Glendale SX race and wanted to mirror that. The SX Futures had Daxton Bennick racing for Star that night with an all blue bike and after having a black YZ like what the 450 team runs I was over the black so I did a little mix of each. Yep, I went with the D'Cor team look on my YZ, too. Blue version, though, like the '23 ('24?) Star Bikes.

Nice! Yeah I think those are the best looking that they have had in awhile. Yamahas just need to be blue

Haha it’s just lurking in the background! It’s my baby! 2005 Pontiac GTO with the 6.0 LS2 I bought back in Feb of 2012 with just a fuzz over 28k miles. Sitting at 55k now. I’ve done custom grind CompCam & supporting valve train, FAST 102 intake manifold & Nick Williams Performance 102mm throttle body. DuSpeed over the radiator cold air intake. Kooks 1 3/4” stainless headers into Kooks stainless 3” catless mids with a Corsa Sport. Lovells lowering springs, MGWP short throw shifter, LS7 clutch. Powder coated BMR strut bar & Holley tall LS valve covers. Billet fill caps. SAP replica grill inserts. Custom oil pressure gauge bezel, Pioneer touch screen cd player. Factory wheels powder coated. Added the 2006 black tail lights too. Made 436/419 on the chassis dyno so about 515hp at tye crank.  I think that’s about it lol. I’ve done everything myself, always been into cars & trucks. My dad had to get himself one after driving mine a few times lol. He found a super nice Cosmos Purple Metallic 2004 with the 5.7 LS1 & 6spd manual.

Holy crap!! Nice work man. You got great taste with the GTO and YZ! I was in high school during those limited years they released the GTO. Never had one but always drooled over those seeing them in public. A buddy has one and he just recently threw twin turbos in his. Awesome car.

Thanks man! I was in like 6th grade ish when they came out and I still remember seeing the commercial for them on tv, looking over at my dad and saying “I’m gonna buy one of those someday”. I friend of mine who tuned my car put a iron block 427 in his and fabbed up his own twin 76mm turbo setup. He made just shy of 1100hp at the rear wheel. It was stupid! Lol

Excellent work on the GTO too BTW. Perfectly tasteful mods, I wouldn't do anything different!

Did a little YouTube walk around video. Are those even a thing still? Anyways, it’ll be online later if you search “Eli Tomac Yamaha YZ250”. Had to add Enter Sandman to my IG story for it as well! 🦈

Haha thanks! I wish it was Florida! I’m so sick of Ohio winters. November through mid March is a sucky time of the year. I’m lucky enough to live within a football field of this lake and state park. It does offer some nice views

Updated. Went to Ironman MX with the bike again in hopes of having Eli see it. All I want is to have the front number plate autographed. Arrived Friday afternoon with a Friday/Saturday wrist band that allowed me access to the pits Al day long both days! Pushed my bike through to the Star 450 tent. Waited for a bit and talked to Jelly about the bike for about 15 minutes or so. (Eli’s mechanic, he DM’d me on Instagram a few weeks back - awesome guy!). He handed me Eli’s front number plate! Waited around awhile longer and no sign of Eli. I loaded up and drove an hour back to Indy to stay with some family for the night. Had my front number plate off and his number plate standing in front of the truck for over an hour & a half waiting to get them signed. Got the BluCru wrist band and was 1st in line for autographs. The lady comes out and says “Eli isn’t coming out he’s feeling under the weather”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! It’s like I went through all of that just to have the moto gods pull the rug out from under my feet. It is what it is. Watched the motos and then rode the bike back to the pits after then second 450 moto. And waited again. No Eli. I knew he had to do podium interviews and drug testing but didn’t know how long that would all take. I gave up at 6pm. I had a 3hr drive home and I promised my 3 year old I’d take her to watch fireworks at our towns summerfest that night so I had to get going. Anyways I did get some pretty cool photos here. Enjoy!

Thanks man it’s been a grind for sure. Yeah I’m a little bummed Eli never saw it but still thankful for being able to even bring my bike into the pits! Sadly I’ve only rode once this year. We had a oddly warm day in March. It was like 50 & sunny so a group of us rode some single track in the woods. Then in April my son was born and I didn’t expect a second child to make me 3x busier but somehow it did lol. So currently with a 3yr old and a 4month old and working 45-50 hrs a week I don’t have much free time. Dad bod is a real thing! Lol. Friday night before Redbud I did a few laps around the yard. I had to hear it, smell it and feel it. I’m dying to get back on the track and test the swingarm and redone suspension. I’ll be posting an update after the first track day for those curious about the swingarm swap that have YZ’s too

congratulations on the newborn. Had my first child a month ago. Life is good.

I'm interested to hear about the swingarm swap... Go get a track day in! You deserve it!
