Thanks to all the people with nice comments. Here are a couple of pictures I just took.

A thing of beauty (to me, anyway)

Other side:

The front:

Some stickers I slapped on until we get our graphics done. Making Matthes proud!

The new shock (longer than previous years, better adjustment):

Putting linkage on the 2 stroke would just be adding unnecessary weight and would make no performance difference for the average rider . Someone racing for a living is buying a 4 stroke anyway.

Due to popular demand, I am posting my impression of my new bike, a 2011 KTM 250xc. First off, a little background info on myself. I am 16 years old, about 6'1", 190 pounds. I race a 2009 KTM 200xc in the 125/200 expert class in different cross country series here in Texas. We (my parents and I) sold my 250sx-f and promptly picked up the new 2011 (Big thanks to Chip and Big Dan at Munn Racing for all that they do and have done for us!). I had the 250f for a little over a year and could just never "gel" with it the way I wanted. I love the two strokes in the woods and racing across fields. This is why we decided, with the advice of Big Dan, to go with the 250xc. Anyway, this weekend was a race in Cash, Texas (East D/FW area) and I took my new bike out for a hot lap after putting around on it for a couple minutes and learning the track on my 200. Man, that 250 is great. Somehow, it is easier to ride than my 200. The power is sooo smooth. This bike is (deceptively) very fast. It almost has the power spread of a four stroke, but with the light and agile feeling of a smoker. The jetting was not spot on (understandable), but it was not much of an issue. We will play around with it later. To give you an idea of the low end power of this bike, I was riding in the woods at a pretty good pace with the bike at very low rpm, where I would be making a ton of noise on my 200. The new chassis and ergonomics are top notch. The frame makes any turn "flow" quite a bit better and stays planted and balanced with little effort. The weight difference between the two was not very noticeable, surprisingly. Overall, this is the most comfortable I have ever been on a bike that I have ridden for less than 30 minutes. It is a blast to ride and easy to be fast on. If you are looking at a new two-stroke (or maybe even if you aren't!), I would say that either one of the 2011 KTM 250 bikes would more than satisfy your needs and wants.

Here is a phone pic, will upload a couple more after I wash the bikes tomorrow.

Roughly so, but with the new two strokes it's a bit closer to the SX models in that it gets the new frame and suspension is more track oriented, but you get the close ratio six speed. The porting is the same as the SX, head and ignition mapping is tamed a bit.

The 2011 250 and 300 XC are pretty fine, versatile machines.

The older MXC's were pretty the EXC without lights and the close ratio rather than wide ratio box.

Haha I know! At 6' 2" and a little under 190 pounds, I'm not the typical size for a rider my age. Or anyone my age, for that matter.

Haha yeah, I always end up doing it when I go there. The video doesn't quite do the jump justice IMO, but it's pretty close.

OK, maybe a 16 year old won't figure that one out.

Sweet Vid. Educate me, why did you get a XC instead of the SX?

Are you just doing off road races or??

If both, why would you go one way and not the other?

For the most part, I only race off road. The big tank, electric start, 18 inch rear wheel, and six speed transmission are signifigant upgrades for me for what I do.

Edit: About the 18 inch rear wheel, my 200xc that is my current race bike has an 18, so we figured both bikes having 18s would help as far as buying tires and being able to swap wheels easily.
