CP - you dont need conditioning to win SX relatively speaking to MX.

and like it or not, agree with it or not, reality is, in this country, being a real threat at SX is ALOT more of a big deal than being ok at SX and strong outdoors. Its not a 50/50 split, its about an 80~90/20~10 split with SX being the most focused on.

want proof.......

look no further than Shorty. 2nd and consistent top guy outdoors. SX, has some flashes here or there but noone truely expects a win or realistically consistently on the box from him. top 5 every week, sure, surprised if he gets a 2nd or 3rd, nope. But you dont think win with him and because of that, hes not a must have guy... the number 2 guy outdoors for how long and is worried about his ride?

want more?

DM.... you will get a moto or 2 out of him here and there. In SX though, he can WIN one. So everyone wonders how every year he gets ride after ride... because he can realistically win a SX. lil'hanni, same deal.

not saying teams poop on mx results and dont care. saying that the main focus and marque exposure comes under the stadium lights and you can be a mediocre MX guy but an awesome SX guy and you will get better money and rides than a guy thats decent indooors and awesome outside. thats the reality right now, but, with the moves MXSports is making, you are getting ALOT more exposure outdoors, so maybe it will swing back to a 50/50 deal again! I think it will.

That dude milked that 1 moto for 5 yrs. Not to shabby if you ask me.
Did you miss the 2007 battles with Villopoto????

What happened at the last national means nothing!!

His value is whatever the highest bidder wants to pay. The kid is a winner and will be a force on the big bike.
I agree.

Pourcel will still be fast, even faster maybe, on the 450 both in SX and outdoors.

He's still hot property.

How much money does he want? To quote the great matthes "with grant signing with honda, that sound you hear is another door slamming on Pourcel and his price tag. Hrd ktm doesn't want him either"

And if it's a rediculous amount, can he really expect that much after giving away the title?
Chris,

You are wrong.

Townley is past his due date in the U.S. His window of opportunity for a title is about shut here.

If he's smart, he'll take the nice money he's been offered to go back to Europe.

Read what I quoted. He said one race is all Townley did in 5 years! Guess all the overalls he took from RV in 2007 don't matter? What about all the times that year he straight up beat RV??

That is the point! Townley didn't have one race it was a lot of races!

christophe may be reaching his due date, other than a couple regional sx titles, all he has is 2 blown championships outdoors. In both those cases he acted like he had it in the bag and didnt really care...epic collapses in both cases...alot of people said that he didnt really care about the title this year cause he felt as though he was the fastest guy and should be on a 450 anyway..I give the guy major credit for coming back from an injury that would have put me on the couch forever and he won acouple sx titles since...If he doesnt deliver a championship in the first year or two on the big bike, the his due date is up..without a major championship his career will end up looking like DV12's. Astrong contender that never delivered the title..the only difference is, everyone liked LeCobra!

I would love to see him back in the GP's, an amazing talent. Can't see why all the bad talk is about. He's a great guy.

Who doesn't like CP?
Seems like a good guy, having him race in the USA only makes our series deeper and better.

I don't think you know but pourcel practice's on the 450 all the time. Even when he was racing the 250 his practice bike was a 450, so I think he can handle the big bike.

I dont know if any of you guys have been to the emergency room lately or had a surgery of any kind. But saying he is asking to much is stupid. They dont work for the factory, but are sub contractors an either have outragious medical insurance coverage or probably none at all. They risk there life every lap an if they get hurt, it takes a big chunk of money to get healthy again. Dude aint asking for much, just to be fairly compesated of course. Who on here works for free. NOBODY! Well some do, but sucking DICK dont count.

but how can it be fair if hes asking MORE than everyone else? imnot saying frenchy aint worth it but supply and demand the supply side is greater than the demand right now... so to be sure he gets a ride he should lower his asking price but bolster it with WIN incentives this way its pay for performance which is the direction the industry seems to be heading....

If dungey was only on salary this year for 400k plus bonuses, and pourcel wants 1.5 mill, i see now why no one wants to sign him. if he doesnt take a pay cut soon it looks like he will be out of a factory ride....

Why pay a guy 1.5 who has VERY LITTLE chance to win a 450 title? CP will likely be a top 3-4 guy on the 450 behind JS, RV, RD and others. Just shows that he thinks he's worth more than he is.
