Funny how the bike and team that were not good enough for Chase is good enough for the Lawrence brothers now. Come to think it wasn't good enough for Roczen either.

He only won when the faster, better guys were out with injuries. Yeah I know " be in it to win it “ but facts don't lie . His 250 titles were the same

Kinda like how Jett only wins championships Sexton isn't healthy for?  Yep, lame comment.

"He turned one of my swimmers completely around. Now he is top 100 in the country for his age group, and this was the only change we made."

Just out of curiosity, where was he ranked before the mental coach?

Top 500 in his best event. Top 700-800 in his next 3 best events. The last 2 priority events were well below top 1000. For reference, there are about 5,000-8,000 swimmers in this age group per event. He was pretty good, but not great.

After working with Alan, he was 42nd in his best event, 82nd in his second best event. This came with no change in training in the pool.

In his 3rd-6th next priority events, he was top 250. Not only did his best event get way better, the depth aspect of his performance was also expanded in a big way.

-Edited for spelling.

No one lucks into 4 professional championship... come on...

Outside of that, I think Chase and Eli are both basically checked out this season on the needed level to be at tip of the spear. They both are going to new places and platforms and want to join those teams healthy.

Side note - I am not one who thinks the mental coach is needed, but the fastest I have ever seen Chase go is when he worked with James. His ego couldn't take what James was telling him, but damn if the two of them didn't make magic. Maybe it's time to get the band back together?

I felt that way about his titles too, especially in the 250 class. He really is a beast on the 450 though, but there was luck involved

Social Video can be extremely awful a lot of the time.

I will volunteer to help out any rider.   “Do your best to stay off sm”.  Pretty simple.

There will always be the haters, the doubters, the blow hards and the toilet racers.  Thats just life.

Its always fun to bench race and thats why most of us are active on vital. But damn, if you get 3rd or 5th or 10th in a moto, you will be crucified by somebody.  Brutal!

Most of the  best riders in the world are racing our series.

Sexton is pretty honest in his interviews lately. I respect that.

Jett is just on another level right now.  Its like watching a road racer and the obstacles are not even there.  He’s like the Phantom racer.

All good and a great race weekend.

Chase, Is the next fastest guy after the two fastest riders in the world right now.  One of which might go down as the greatest to ever do it someday.  He was the only one even close to their speed yesterday. Oh and he has won a few 450 titles.

Maybe he makes mistakes because he is willing to push it to the max to try and beat them?  Jett has had two silly washout crashes all by himself in the last 3 motos.  If that was Sexton, people would be saying it's because he isn't mentally strong and needs a better coach.  Jett is just so much better that he can make those mistakes and still win most the time.🤷‍♀️  Sexton probably has to ride closer to the edge to go the same speed as Jett and as a result mistakes might be more common and harder to recover from.

Or maybe he should just be mentally strong like jmart, who I am a huge fan of, but who has also spent the majority of his career crashing hard and being hurt.

Plus how does anyone know what he has and hasn't tried to prep for races?

Chase made the same boneheaded mistakes racing Coop in SX. I know the Jett lovers like to say that Jett’s otherworldly speed is causing Chase’s mistakes because the pace is too fast, but the proof is in the pudding. Chase doesn’t handle pressure well period.

I really like Chase as a person but him winning all his championships by the top dogs getting hurt has to mess with his head a little. These guys want to be the best and to be the best you have to beat your competition straight up. You might get a gift but deep down where it counts you know you only won because of someone else’s misfortune. I think this is what is causing a lot of his mental issues. I could be wrong and probably am but if it was me I know it would be on my mind every time I lined up.

I have to chuckle, most of us are self proclaimed psychiatrists by hobby, professional riders in our own heads and then we bust our butts all week at work to afford all of our things and to feed our family, maybe in the other order. 🤣😜😬
Im guilty as well, trying to figure out what the racers are thinking etc.

At least in stick and ball sports you can always deflect some of the problems on the other guys.

🤣🤣

The old leg beating. 😬

Chase is classy and was brought up right. He’ll get there. That last 1/2 percent is the hardest.

What Jett has that no other rider in the field has is a brother that is super fast on the same bike and team.  Two great riders on the same bike doing suspension and chassis adjustments while sharing the information is such an advantage. If you don’t believe it look how much Hunter has improved since he has moved up too the 450. It takes a team to win. Jet, Hunter and Honda have the best team on the planet!

I concur.  Reminds me of Team Honda of the mid to late 80’s.

Kawi had Jeff Ward to keep them honest but think of it,  they had RJ, Omara, Lechein, Bailey, Hannah, Magoo ….

Off topic, I was watching a rerun of the des nations in Jacksonville tonight. Herlings went from 41st to first. They mentioned that himself and Stew were the only riders to come feom that far back in a pro race after crashing and winning.   Didnt Sexton come from 40th last year to win?

Somebody on here before mentioned that chase has the weirdest luck ever. He has bad luck that ends up with him throwing away championships like when he hit coopers rear wheel and then he has good luck like eli blowing his achilles with 1 race to go or forkner wadding it up on the 250 and cruising to both titles. Even when he had the good luck of eli blowing his achilles to win, he had so much bad luck already where he washed out the front end 27 times that he should have been waaay up on tomac anyways. So I guess in the end of all kind of cancels eachother out and hes basically where he should be, because he should have won that sx championship and not even needed the eli thing if he hadnt crashed in the lead so many times.

Rider errors is not bad luck. Bad luck is a mechanical or something else you could not avoid as a rider.

Tucking the front end 27 times is not one of those.
