2024.5 Gasgas 250F Cuts Out

Anyone heard of this issue: I have a new 2024.5 Gasgas 250 FE that cuts out when “bogging”.
Example: Say I’m trying to roll through a corner in 3rd and end up stuffing it in a hook at the end and dump the throttle and the thing cuts in and out and sputters like it’s running out of gas. I have to fan the clutch to try to get it back. I can roll the throttle through the corner fine until I go to accelerate it does it. I’m guessing it’s an ECU/electrical problem? Only happens at low RPMs like that. I’m coming off a 23 KTM 250f and never had this issue. Curious if someone’s found a fix? Happened at 0 hrs and still at 4 hrs. Thanks 👍

same here, never had the issue on my fc250 2023, and it happens frequently on my ktm sxf 250 2025

Could be TPS, fuel pressure. map sensor, fuel filter

Well this is a timely post. We actually have two 24.5 MC250Fs. Our older one fires right off, runs like a top and never has a hiccup. Our newer one takes longer to start and is doing similar to what you’re describing. I’ve checked and adjusted the tps voltage and checked the fuel filter. We always run good fuel so that’s not an issue so I’m assuming it’s an ecu/mapping problem. I ordered a vortex from xpr as I’ve had good results with them in the past. Hopefully that solves our issues. Bikes are just like cars and trucks now. When everything works it’s great. When the electrical gremlins strike however…

Add voltage regulator and battery to your possible causes. I can’t imagine those would be bad at 0 hours but it’s possible I guess.

I had a crack in the plastic filter in the tank that made my 350xcf do exactly this. Replaced it with a metal Napa 3095 as I now do with all of my Austrian bikes. The plastic ones fail where the two halves are bonded together. Good idea to do this regardless.

Update after plugging it in there were a couple TPS numbers that were off, but that did not fix the problem. Checking fuel pressure next.

Update: The dealership (who is being very cool and helpful about all this) went through all the TPS numbers again with the KTM tech on the phone. We tried swapping my ECU with a 25 gasgas ECU at the track and rode both bikes with swapped ECUs. My bike continued to cut out and the 25 gasgas rode fine with my ECU. Checking fuel filter in tank for crack like stated above next. Also trying a new TPS sensor.

Like I said in OP, when i'd roll through a corner feeding a little clutch to keep 3rd gear up then dump the clutch at low rpm when the bike cuts out and hesitates. Not a bog. Example on the 25 GG I could roll a corner in 4 and pin it and it would just lug, my bike would cut and sound like its about to die if i kept the throttle on until I dabbed the clutch to get the rpm back up. Real head scratcher here.

Not exactly what we experienced, but coolant temp sensor caused ours to bog.  Ran fine when first started, but once it got hot it started doing it.  There's a thread on it in the tech section.

EDIT:  Here's the link to the thread.
