Got it last month off Bring a Trailer. It was in Bakersfield and I have a customer that owns a business there and in Louisiana. I went down to Louisiana a couple weeks ago to pick it up. My plans are a vintage racer so it’s going to have a lot of incorrect parts for a 80. Already working on a set of 40 MM forks from a 83 and Dubya is building wheels from later model hubs I got off E-bay.

The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Took some effort to get the jug off. Had to rig a puller and it as still a job. Original bore so I have 1st over piston on the way.![]()
Lots of boxes of stuff right now. It actually ran with just a carb cleaning but compression never came up.
I have sold a few and bought a few (cars)-(listing a truck next) on BAT, I remember drooling over this one as I am about 5 hours north. Will be following your build.

Dubya did a great job with my wheels.
Its a solid bike all around. For sure the engine has never been apart but it looks like low hours. Some home made parts and make do parts were on it but its going to end up a fairly easy build. Both shocks are blown but I have new seal kits and friend that is has done remote reservoir Ohlins. May end up getting some Noleen piggyback shocks from Clark. It does have a double leading shoe front brake hub from a later model. Piston came this week and I have the carb ready with some suggested jetting. Mostly new clutch with a HVA-Factory modded inner hub with their plate setup.
Really cool Husky from when they were made in Sweden by Swedish people. Always like the old Huskys.
40MM forks are built and the engine is back together. Shocks are rebuilt with updated seal heads
Pit Row
Nice build!✌️
Gorgeous
Bike is looking great so far. Where are you sourcing Husky parts from? I have a 78 390CR that's been sitting for decades and I would like to rebuild it at some point.
HVA Factory in England. They ship to the US. DG Plastics and Husqvarna-Parts.com in the US. Also like any build E-bay
Ok so after sending some pics around one of my friends that is former GNCC Pro and now races vintage bikes said the forks need to up into the triples and least 1 1/2 inches. I see a ton of pics with 80 and earlier bikes with the 35 MM forks set up like that but not on the 40's. Is is converted to 40's so is the older chassis that needs that?

What Cable guide is that?
It's completely different to the ones I use / have - with your one pictured, quite far out from the fork tube.
I used the OEM Husky 40mm Cable guide on my Fox 44s - with a different bolt, it fitted well.
The OEM white one is still on my 44s, with another that I had as a spare, that I've used on my Fox 40 DH forks for the last 20 years - I want proper, real front brake cable guidance, and won't just depend on the clamping of the brake hose to the arch as std. To see Teams that are spending $$$$ on their latest racing efforts and contraptions, with the brake hose bowing out / forward / back, well, it makes a joke of it all, to me.
I now get the replicas from HVA - they are in Black, but otherwise largely the same as the original OEMs I have. Not cheap, but, I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with, is their postage costs - bloody hell they went the gouge on that . I get quite a few things from Britain, Europe and the USA (and send things there) and I get companies that are fair with freight (and 'handling'`) costs, and others that regard it as another (excessive - it's not hard to reverse research the actual freight / post costs from a Country) profit maker. Though, few things have been as bad as my wanting to get a few Scotts Steering Damper parts - seals, cap seal and a new Adjuster knob, and the detente spring. That would have fit in a cigarette pack sized parcel, and they wanted around $200 USD just for freight.

Here's the OEM one, and the HVA one.
Biggest difference, besides colour, is that the OEM had a female pocket, either side, to accommodate and hold the bolt head and the nut ( the nut in a hex pocket), the HVA one has the flat head screw / bolt proud of the plastic, then threading into the plastic.
I replace the flat head screw with a Stainless Button Head Bolt, 2 Washers and Nyloc Nut set.
Your 390 is looking good!
PS - I just checked the husqvarna-parts.com listing, and the picture they have there is much different to what you've got from them, and, the OEM - well, at least the ones I got 44 years ago....... so be it:
