Pro 2-stroke National !

Don't Stash The Pre-Mix Just Yet!

At the Glen Helen 250/450 AMA National on May 24-25, there will be a pro class set aside specifically for two-strokes. The two-stroke pro race is by “invitation-only,” although any pro rider can apply to be accepted (but only 40 riders will get a chance to ride the complete AMA National track on the Saturday of timed qualifying--May 24).

For riders who wants to race the Glen Helen National track in front of the fans this is a great opportunity. There is no entry fee for accepted riders in the two-stroke challenge, but you have to apply in order to get a spot on the gate. Oh yeah, you will need a two-stroke (which any savvy pro can get his hands on with a little wheeling and dealing).

This is the first announcement of the request for invitation, so act fast. The two-stroke race will be sponsored by L.A. Sleeve and there will be a $2000 purse.
Riders interested should contact Glen Helen’s Lori Bryant at (909) 880-3090 or lori@glenhelen.com

I'll be there...will you ?

I will ask the status of what is possible.

Jody Weisel, has put this together. But for now, it is just a Glen Helen thing. But if it was to go over well, who knows ?

I'm sure it is up to each individual promoter.

No doubt.

It's just too bad it's in that crappy, overcrowded state.

I just wish they could run against the 250F's.............

It will be the most popular race of the day.

And I got the 2 stroke no problem, it's the "PRO" thing that's giving me a problem, oh well I'll be there cheering them on.

Very cool, I can't wait to see the rider list.

This could be very interesting. If the same riders ride the 250T and either the 250F or 450's, then we'll have a back to back look at how the lap times actually compare at the pro level today. It should take the "better rider" out of the equation- IE Villopoto kicking butt on a 250F over everything at the MXDN.

However, anything that promotes the 2 stroke is good in my book.

Are they thinking todays pro's? I was thinking older guys or local fast guys. I would think the teams would not be to hip on guys risking the Nationals wadding it up on Sat. But I agree with you it would be very cool if its top pro's.

It is an invitational event...Any Pro class rider is eligible. I highly doubt any of the current AMA national Pros will compete, but it is not out of the question.

I will have more info tomorrow (Sunday) evening. I have business to take care of at the track, and I will forward anything I hear.

I like to do one if they did some over here on the east coast

Given the power sapping hills and wide open layout of Glen Helen, a 500AF might just be the hot ticket for this race; I wonder if it's displacement limited?

Maybe someone could talk RV or JS into racing a KX500AF on Saturday? Can anyone say "lap record"?

Just a minute now.....the red one very may well be spoken for. I'll have to consider who might be borrowing my bike before I decide whether to let them ride it!
