Someone might need to clarify, but they're not banning alcohol. They just don't have a license to sell it.

Which is probably better, you can’t get charged a ridiculous amount for a pint

You can get rid of alcohol at all sporting events and it would be a better experience.

Delivering their kids to the start line pissed, with a beer in one hand and a spliff in the other. It’s a fucking embarrassment. These people are the dregs of society. Worst of all, because they have these drink/drug issues, very often their child is subject to mental (sometimes physical) abuse if they don’t ride well. Believe me, I’ve lost count how many times I’ve witnessed it.

The weekend of the GP is no longer primarily a sporting event- it’s an opportunity for a drugged up 36 hr weekender. Again an embarrassment. 

I drink. I’m ok that people want to enjoy a beer and enjoy the racing. What I think is out of hand is the lack of control people have to stay decent. 
 

I only go to GPs in Europe now, yes they get loose and have a good time but they don’t cross the line. The British GP is the opposite, just full of absolute chav shite that don’t know how to behave themselves.

I'll never forget smuggling booze and weed into the 87 Des Nations at Unadilla. It made it more fun lol. Walked around with a mixed drink in a Coca Cola can all day and snuck off into the woods a couple times for a puff or two as well. If memory serves they actually did away with camping for a couple years trying to get it back under control. I have a buddy who won't go to Red Bud anymore because they won't let you drink your own beer hahaha. They figured out how much money they could make outlawing bringing in your own and selling it to you at $8 or $10 per.

They banned alcohol for the Bathurst 500 car race a few years back. The fans got round it by sneaking into the track in the weeks before and burying stashes of beer around the spectator fields 😄
