I'm ready for the races this weekend and need a few tidbits of info to finalize my plans. 1- How is cell phone service in and around the track? I have ATT wireless service here in Mississippi and hopefully it works in Lakewood, Denver, Boulder, and Central City areas. Whatcha think?? 2- I want to bring a small lightweight folding chair or stool or something to set my old butt on when I'm not sitting in VIP area that I have received as a birthday gift. I hiked all over RedBud '04 and MXdN Budds Creek in '07, but I was 40ish then. Now I'm a 60yr old and I want to sit down sometimes, ya know?! I'm open to any suggestions cause I bet they won't let me bring in a milk crate! 3- Will they allow a small soft cooler so I can bring my water, Gatorade, and ENSURE with me? Ya know I will need all the energy I can muster to walk around UP THERE with no oxygen. The highest point in Miss'ippi is 880 feet. I got my pilot's license 25 years ago and never broke 2,500 feet during training or traveling cross country over here in the Delta. I climbed to 5,500 feet on the way home from my successful checkride just to do it, plus I was listening to CREED singing "HIGHER" so it just fit in. Took a while in the C172 but it was worth it. All right, Vital folks, I'd appreciate any help you can offer and I'll cya at the races Saturday! BRAP! TwoDogs

I've only been to the Thunder  Valley national once (last year).  Going again this year.

I vaguely remember cell coverage being spotty on Verizon.  Maybe able to get a text out, but little or no data.

We brought in folding chairs and soft cooler with food and drinks.

They will search your cooler and won't let you bring alcohol in.

Phone will be great. TV is basically at the intersection of 2 major highways and close to Denver, plenty of cell coverage. Small stool/chair is ok if you hike up the hill, planning on staying around the VIP area, probably not needed. The websites always say no coolers allowed but usually the folks running the gates don’t care. Empty one(or more) of ensures and fill it with your favorite tasty mixer that goes well with the free sodas in the VIP tent. 😉

I had ATT last year at the National and it is definitely spotty at the track.  Highly variable depending where, exactly, on the hill you are standing.   Lots of people having similar experience.  It was actually kind of surprising they didn’t bring in one of those mobile event cell truck setups.
