I agree. They did the same for Christian Craig as well. I also think they know they're going to have allot more of an up side in helping a rook.

A big team helping out a relatively unknown is something the rarely happens in any other sport. Good on teams like JGR and many others that step up to help the privateers.

Didn't Suzuki do that with some kid name Ryan Dungey? That worked out ok for them! I was at Ponca and LL's and there was a lot of kids with talent. I wish teams like JGR were able to help out some of those guys. Our sport is loaded with talent but lacking the funds to get everyone to the top.

Thats a bit different. Dungey was being groomed by Suzuki through the AM ranks to be their next big star. What I'm talking about here is when a big teams uses a privateer to fill in for an injured rider thus giving the new guy a shot at showing what he can do on prime equipment.

You are correct on Dungey. I would like to see more of what JGR did with Paluzzi. I was impressed with his finishes for his first pro race, and he was on a 450! The talent coming out of the amateur ranks the next few years is unbeleivable. The sad thing is there isn't going to be enough rides for them all!!

At what age had Suzuki started grooming Dungey to be the start rider on Team Suzukuki? So Roger D didn't just spot Dungey at an amateur race just before he turned pro and hired him?

Check out the "First Hand" show on Fuel TV on Ryan Dungey. According to him he went to Roger and aksed for a chance to ride with good equipment to prove his worth.

Paluzzi...un-known?

O.K.

However, he's been on the "Hot-Properties" list in the AM's for a few years...as in...he's had some VERY NICE equipment from Suzuki for a few years.

I'm jus' sayin'...

Dungey never raced in the A class. He had a tryout at Glen Helen with RD and RC watching several riders and they both saw someting special in Dungey. I guess the Man and the Goat can spot talent.

Well if you listen to some of the people on here , he only did well because there is no competiton in the 450 class right now.lol

I think he will continue to do well and with a team like JGR his training will be much better than he getting now and his bikes are only going to get better. Another thing some dont realise is that he went to public school 5 days a week. Now that he is out of school and can work every day with JGR I cant help but think he is only going to get much better.

Dungey was racing B class spring of 06 and planning on going to LL's in b class until this glen helen tryout and then moved up to A class but it was to late to qualify for LL's so he raced A up and thru Ponca then turned pro and raced the last few nationals..... So in summary he was B class in april and top ten pro 4 months later...Wink

So Dungey was a B rider, did a try out for Team Suzuki and did well, then rode as an A rider and race some nationals and placed top 10.

that's pretty rapid progress for a rider.

Did anyone else read this and think "Wow there openly talking about drug taking!"

Only joking guys, but it does read funny in that context.

This is not true, Nico Izzi was being groomed to be Suzuki's next big star. He got hurt, Ryan got his shot, the rest is history!
