Dungey has been "up front" since he came up.
And everyone agrees how hard titles are to win.

An "up front" since he came up kid, stayed healthy and consistent this year. And he got two titles.

What does it tell you about the fact that binghampton has been misspelled and the amount of points going in to steel city no one really knows accurately?

It means that championships are all that matters.

And I personally believe that if RV and James come back perfect, they are gonna have their hands full with Dungey.

And Dungey know's he is gonna have his hands full with them.

Which is why it seems like o'le Dungey doesn't give a shit about these titles.....because at age 20, he's still looking to kick some serious ass. And is gonna do what he needs to do.

Dungey has another level. And he's only just built his base.

Bubba, Dungey and ,Villopoto could trade titles for the next few seasons......or ojne could dominate.

I'm not betting on domination.

He also said Dungey was the fastest man on the planet, a title that wasn't true with Stewart and it isn't true with Dungey. There are a dozen riders worldwide that could be fastest depending on day and track. Dungey is probably most consistently fast though.

I must have been watching a different broadcast. Emig was full of compliments for Dungey. At one point he said something to the effect of "to the casual fan, it may appear that is was easy championship for Dungey, but they never see all the work that goes into it.". Then he goes on to mention the championships will be tougher when RV, Bubba and Reed get back to racing. I took that as a simple observation rather than diminishing Dungey's championships because he had already spent so much time glowing about his riding this year.

In my opinion, Dungey is now the top guy in the world.....my opinion. Back during the SX series I think he had a few things go his way that helped......like Stewart getting hurt and Villo going over the bars when he was going for the kill shot. ......in the end he had the most points and is the champ.......

......just like in 92' when Laroccos dad suddenly forgot how to wrench on a bike and Emig capitalized.....just like in 96' when McGrath thought he was the real superman and jacked his ankle up, Emig was there to capitalize. In 97' I think Emig was fastest outdoor rider in the world....even 98' when he got his act together.

You won't catch me saying much bad about any pro rider. Usually we say a title is a title.....but a few guys in here seem to want to put an asterisk on Emigs titles. Give the guy some credit.

BTW- Dungey flat out beat down anyone who tried to take a shot at him in the outdoors this year.....beat them down like one eyed dogs......and I give him big props for that.

Ive spoken to him a few times and he is always a funny guy to chat with. I think he just gets caught up in the "Dungey is lucky" bullshit that so many people in the industry seem to NEED to believe. I happen to think more like BobbyM. Dungey is killing them while going about 80%. He has more in the tank if anyone steps up.

Dungey is still young and definitely has more in the tank and will keep progressing as riders step-up to challenge him.I'm excited to see how much he steps his game up in SX this season against a healthy JS,CR,RV,etc.. should be good and I think Dungey will really surprise alot of folks. Wink

Did anyone else catch Dungey say he wants to keep pushing and be the best? Like he doesn't believe that he already is the best or that he is going after RC's records. I don't know which. It's going to be fun to watch though. Wink

I suppose we need to put a asterisk next to Stanton's title's also based on what I am reading here. You show up and race the series, score the most points, you are the champ no matter what the hell else goes on. Emig was flat out the man in MX for that two year period. If Brian Swink hadn't blown up his knee one to many times (and partied a little to much) we wouldn't be looking back with such fine memories of the first guy to shun the outdoors.

Jeff Emig's level of analysis during the Southwick broadcast was the best yet. this season

Good job, actually. I just watched Moto 1, and found myself interested for a change in what he had to say. He knows a lot but for some reason it hasn't been translating through.

He's also stopped saying, "Okay" so much, which is nice.

Dungey is the champ, 3 or more of the top racers did not race the whole series, not that they were certain to beat RD5 but they would have made it much tougher for him to win..... if at all.
