Fantic Racing In USA

Now that they are starting to sell their bikes in the US. Wondering if anyone knows anything about them maybe making a race team and compete in SMX? Would be awesome to have another bike in the series.

They do decent in MXGP.

That's what made me think if they are going to do something here. The bikes are clearly good and capable to compete with the rest.

What are the differences between a Fantic and a Yamaha?

They're only importing and selling two off-road models. The XE300 2-stroke and the XEF 250 TL 4-stroke.

Based off that, I would say they won't start an SX/MX team. 

Maybe an off-road team.

Yeah, I know it's just offroad at the moment. That would be cool if they did do an offroad team. 

Wonder if they have any plans to release the XXF models here? Then they could make a team for SX/MX.

To me the fantic is the "factory edition' Yamaha, comes with pipe,ecu and a few other things, as well as different body work.  Would be cool to see them come to America,  I had a friend go to a GP a few years back and he was talking to a fantic guys, he said fantic were going to have there own bike (no yamaha parts) that was going to come to market....  Who knows, maybe after some testing they said the Yamaha platform was good to tweak off and just to leave it there.

They are only importing bikes that Yamaha doesn’t sell, like the 300. Also the importer is a smaller company. They also import Rieju, SWM & Em trials bikes. So no moto team coming.

Well, that's disappointing. Maybe if the bikes sell well over here, they might sell all types of their bikes and hopefully lead into an MX team.

Fantic motorcycles have been sold in the U.S.before but it's been a long time since then, over 30 years. Mostly trials bikes and enduro models. 2 strokes of their own design back in the '70's and '80's before they went our of business. No shared product.

Nope, their MX bikes are Yamahas and the off road stuff is powered by Moto Minarelli, which is Fantics in house engine brand.  Their contract with Yamaha forbids them to sell any Yamaha products in America.
