He went 1-1 at Millville 2007 in his last AMA pro event.

His last big race was the 2007 MXDN at Budds Creek.

X games don t count LOL! I was at Budds MXDN, it was a great day of racing and a great day for the USA! RV was on another planet that day! And as a big RC fan loved to see him go out like that. And Red Dog saved the day again,

Dont forget the crazy irony of his last moto of his last FULL season. Glen Helen 06, was leading James, crashed and hurt his shoulder, that put him out of the MXDN that year.

The irony part is that was his last race and the only DNF in his outdoor career due to an injury.

I made it out to that race from the east coast when I was helping out with the WWR program, plus taking a vacation... I remember watching the first moto and RC crashed and pulled out... You know it was bad if RC pulls out of a race. But I was to a friend of mine there, and said about the same thing... "I couldn't ever remember RC DNF'ing in a moto in the Nationals." What a way to end your full time MX/SX career with a DNF and only DNF.

Red Dog rode awesome, but he didn't save the day, you might be thinking of 2008. The US ended up with 8 points. 2nd place (France) had 34 points. Villopoto went 1-1. RC went 3-1. Red Dog went 4-2. Red Dog could have went DNF-25 and the US still would have won.

RC did go 1-1 in his last national, Millville 2007. That was the race DV got ran over in the 2nd moto and it got red flagged.

RC got lucky on his last MX race. He got he's butt kicked in the first moto and was
losing the second moto until JS tipped over with like 2 laps to go.
RC 2-1 / JS 1-2. James was kicking his butt. James won the first race at Hangtown
that year, chased down Chad, and passed him on the last lap.

I remember his last race being GH too in which he crashed out, so no, he didn't win.

His last supercross was an epic battle between him and James at Orlando I believe, they battled hard all 20 laps with James barely getting the win.

That was a bizarre race. I'm sure that's not the way he wanted to go out.

Carmichael campaigned the 2006 Supercross season aboard an RMZ450, his first attempt at indoor competition on a four-stroke. It was the most exciting series battle in recent memory. There were multiple points lead changes and race winners, and Carmichael, Reed, and Stewart all entered the Las Vegas finale within 5 points of each other. With Carmichael and Reed tied for the lead, and Stewart only 5 points behind them, it was a close race. Carmichael rode to a safe second place finish behind Stewart and ended the series with 6 victories and his fifth Supercross championship. He indicated that 2006 would be his last full-time season and planned to retire the following year. In the 2006 Outdoor National Championship season, RC once again dominated all comers, including James Stewart, in winning 9 races and placing second twice. However, at the season finale at Glen Helen Raceway, RC suffered a terrible crash while challenging James Stewart for the win and was unable to finish the race. Fortunately though, Carmichael had already clinched the overall championship at the prior round. In the crash, he sustained a shoulder injury and was unable to compete in the Motocross of Nations race in England. Ivan Tedesco replaced him on Team USA and helped lead the American team to victory.

As planned, Carmichael raced only a partial schedule in 2007. He would only race select events for Team Makita Suzuki while pursuing his new stock car career. Again, Carmichael continued to amaze and looked faster than ever, with three Supercross wins and six Outdoor National Championship wins (every race he entered). Carmichael capped his career with a winning performance at the X-Games and a victory with Team USA at the Motocross of Nations in Budds Creek, MD (which was held in the USA for the first time since 1987).

That was not RC's last race. But you're kind of right about what happened. Chad raced Budds Creek in 07 to prepare for the MXdN that year and got 3rd behind RC and JS. I'm sorry but it's not luck when James loses focus and goes over the bars in a deep rut in a corner. James knew that rut was there and chose to go through it and it grabbed his front brake and threw him over the bars. Call it luck if you want. I call it JS choking w/big brother RC behind him. RC raced later in the 07 series at Millville and dominated. JS was out by then with a knee injury he suffered at Washougal.

Dan is correct. Millville was RC's last race. Here are the archived series standings from 2007. RC won his last 6 outdoor races.

RC's walk off win at his last national and also the '07 MXoN at Budds Creek is rivaled by Roger DeCoster winning his last-ever GP at Luxembourg in 1980 (on a Honda!) and maybe eclipsed by Stefan Everts' 1-1 sweep at the '06 MXoN in England, when he caught and passed James Stewart and rode off into the sunset.

I also believe Broc Glover won his last pro race, a 250cc GP in Europe in 1989, and he was on a KTM.

At the Budd Creek MXdN, RC's performance would have been much more dominant if he had not been sick,Cronic Fatigue, if I remember correctly? That is where Villopoto won both motos going away. What did Ricky do in the first moto, second or third?
