No metal in the filter is good news. I would say not the crank then. Does not mean you did not suck the clutch plate in though. You can see one of my filters in my photos & it does not have any metal or pieces in it either... Please keep us posted i am curious what happened.

I am not understanding. guessing you found the 2" piece of clutch? where did you find it?

Just a joke that it  mysteriously reappeared and fucked something up.

It is what it is. I was just talking with a couple buddies the other day about how I’ve only blown up one bike in 25+ years of riding. Well… make that two now.

Honestly, I’m glad I was riding where I was. If I’d been anywhere else, I would’ve ate it on a big jump.

Not too thrilled about the hit to the wallet coming my way, but I did grab a new ‘24 a few weeks back. Was trying to hold off on riding it—but shit, here we are.

Curious - has anyone tried running a slip-on with the air box grommet installed on the '24? I know most everyone would have removed the grommet first since it's an easy free mod. But interested to hear how just a slip-on with the grommet installed behaves? I am guessing about the same as the grommet removed with the stock silencer?

No but why would you want to do that?

Really just curious how much the airbox grommet changes the power vs a slip-on.

Started with just the grommet out. Then removed the screens and flattened out the baffle on the end of the muffler. This was much more noticeable than the grommet. Probably gets you close to 90-95% of what a slip on would give you. It’s a touch louder, but nothing obnoxious. Added the twin air power flow kit after that. This made a subtle difference at crack of the throttle and a little on mid-top. Wanted to attempt to keep the filter a bit cleaner so I put 3 holes in the grommet and reinstalled. Noticed no difference so I left it in.   Don’t have a slip on to compare for you, but rode a buddies bike completely stock with a full PC exhaust and to be honest didn’t really notice a whole lot compared to my unrestricted stock muffler. Hope that helps some.

Im not sure if you saw, but Twin Air makes a mesh grommet piece now. Thinking about trying it to see if it keeps my filter from being completely caked.

I love this bike turns great motor is fun suspensions great after factory connection did it but the crank just went out at 48 hours. I had a piston kit ready to go anyways that I planned on doing at 50 hours but still a bummer. I had a 2022 before this 2024 the clutch exploded at 40 hour mark and destroyed absolutely everything.. not as bad this time but still a bummer and my final Kawasaki product lol

None at all I rode the first two motos of the day and was loving the bike it blew the last lap of the third moto of the day thankfully I had enough momentum it didn’t kill me as it blew right before the face of a jump.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere but does the '19-'23 rear wheel fit without any issues? I am having a hard time finding an extra rear wheel to throw my scoop tire on.

Need the smaller rotor and it will fit right up. Tusk makes a good one. That’s what I did to get my extra set.

Ok good to know! I knew about the 240mm rotor. I looked at RM and they do not have any Tusk rear wheels listed for the '24 450 but they do for the '19-'23 450 and the '25 KX 250 (which is listed as a 2.15). Just trying to figure out which one I should order.

Sorry, I meant tusk rotor. If you have an old rim you used for 19-23 model just buy the new rotor and spacers and everything else fits right up:

Do any of you 450X owners happen to have the stock fork and shock springs you would like to sell?? .48n/M fork and 5.2n/M shock?

Anyone had any overheat issues with their bike? While riding track this past weekend, I could hear pressure/gargling in the fuel tank, and even had some fuel vent through the tank cap/hose and down the front fender. Wasn’t overly hot out - like 85 degrees. Normal?

At a higher elevation? That makes these issus worse I believe

I’ve had it on deep sand track once. No concern for me.

Hi everyone - I'm coming off a 22 KTM 450 and this 25 KX450 feels like a jackhammer. I had Pro Circuit setup the suspension for my weight and speed, but it's still beating me up. I'm hoping it will soften up as I break it in (only 12 hours so far). Has anyone had any luck with engine hangers, torque settings, clamps, etc., or are these bikes just that much stiffer? My wrists are killing me. I've messed with clickers and oil levels, but I still get this very rigid harsh feeling from what I assume is the frame. Thanks!

No there is something wrong. The optional engine hangars are very nice imo. Retorque everything is always a must but to be honest sounds like the valving is incorrect. I’ve had Pc do my in the past and I wasn’t happy.

If you chose to go to another company TBT out of Rancho is amazing. And he is local to do test days at GH

agreed. I used to run Pro Circuit Suspension as well. It was essentially set up for A1. I ran it for 2 years & i switched to precision concepts & love it. I'm never more than 1-2 clickers from my base setting & i go ride & race in all sorts of conditions. On Pro Circuit i had my shit as soft as it would go & it worked okay but i was out of adjustment.

Are you riding this weekend? i'd possiblyyy swap bikes for a lap or 2 with you if you wanted.

Engine Hangars help the vibration, x trigs do as well but it's more in the bar mounts system, i run the soft green elastomers. Also run sag low, 106. I tried to go to 103 cause idk social pressure & norms but never felt as good so i gave up on that, back to 106 & shew.

I agree about the bar mounts. My only complaint about the new gen kawi was the vibration and going phds green and Evo bars completely eliminated it.

Bike set up is so interesting to me. I love my stuff from factory connection. I’ve always ran 105 sag but dealt with arm pump. Heard Eli talking about how he sets his bike up to eliminate his arm pump and I copied him. Started running 95 sag and it all but eliminated my arm pump.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep working on the setup and retorque everything. I’m sure getting use to an aluminum frame is going to take some getting use to as well, I’ve been on orange for over 10 years.

I should also note that my biggest complaint is on smaller chop and square edge holes. It’s much more tolerable everywhere else.
