This might be a bit of a nothing post, but I guess it could serve as a PSA to pre-2023 bike owners. I’ve had 2018 & 2021 KTMs and a 2022 GG 350. All had the same oil changing procedure. I just picked up a 2024 Husky and checked the manual to see if anything is different. It's basically identical, but the new directions call for removing an extra oil drain bolt from the bottom of the bike. The bolt is present on the previous gen bikes, but directions specifically indicated NOT to remove it. Just thought that it was odd. I was kind of apprehensive to pull it despite what the new directions said, but I removed it last and a decent amount of oil came out. I probably should have pulled it on the old bikes to reduce contamination in the new oil. If you have an older model bike, pull that bolt to fully drain it.

I have never pulled this drain bolt on my 24…Next oil change I will pull it to see how much comes out….
I always pull it both my 2020 and my 2025. A good extra bit of oil comes out. On my 2025, pulling that, doing a filter, and leaning the bike hard to get max drainage... exactly 1 liter puts the level perfect.
Now, let's discuss what tool is supposed to be used on that extra bolt... because both 6mm allen and Torx45 fit it perfect... 😵😁
the 2023's manual called to not drain that. Starting in 2024 the manuals revised and said to drain it. Its the bottom oil valley that feeds to the screen and pumps. If you dont pull it and add 1L you are overfull. Pulling it and draining 1&2 i get very close to 1L out when doing the filter as well.
What would be the harm to have an extra 50cc”s of oil in the engine?

Not much harm. I never pulled that screw in the 240 hrs/ 40+ oil changes spanning across my 3 previous 350s. But why mix 50cc of old contaminated oil with fresh oil when it can be avoided?
I agree with getting all the oil & debris out. Add one more drain bolt to the routine😂
I have a '23 and my manual was wrong so I didn't pull that drain plug the 1st 20 or so hours I owned the bike. This led to it being slightly overfilled and you would smell a slight burning oil smell for a hour or so after every oil change. I started only adding 900ml of oil after each oil change and that fixed it. Then I learned that I needed to pull that plug so I'm back to adding the full 1L of oil after a change and no burning oil smell. My guess is the extra oil causes some more windage and the oil smell is coming out of the vent tube.
