I played around with spring rates some as my Enzo setup was just to harsh for me. Had the Ohlins FTX inserts installed and wow, night and day. I have been on alot of different peoples setups as well as some kit stuff and nothing has come close to this.
Coming off a 21 KX I just could not get comfortable on this bike. Those inserts combined with having the shock revalved again to match made such a drastic difference. I actually look forward to the tracks breaking down and getting rougher now later in the day.
Th Luxon engine mounts look interesting.
Love the power but had to find a way to calm down throttle inputs. The extra fuel on the vortex with flywheel and throttle tamer made it way less tiring to ride as well as just smoother.
Setup to date
Vortex from XPR set on best overall power map with fuel settings 877 running VP T4
Bundy Built Flywheel and G2 throttle tamer
Full pro circuit TI exhaust, p3 carbon air box lid, twin air power flow kit 13/50 gearing, rekluse clutch
FCP engine mounts, luxon Gen 3 pro clamps set at 24mm with rubber mounted bar mounts & pro taper ACF bars.
Raptor pegs
REP linkage
So are you on Enzo set up or Ohlins?
Does the G2 make the bike sluggish to throttle inputs? Like if you want to blip the throttle to pop over something how does that feel. I want smoother power is the goal but not make the bike feel heavy and lethargic.
Was on Enzo. Now Ohlins inserts in the front and oem shock just revalved again to match the ohlins up front.
The first 15% or so is definitely not as responsive. I wouldnt say sluggish but hard to explain. It really helped me not hammer the clutch so much out of corners trying to keep the front down. The only thing that took some getting used to is that you have to turn the throttle alittle more for WOT. For the 60$ or so I figured I wasted far more money trying other things.
I am going to take some fuel back out of the ECU since its much more manageable now.
I have FCP engine mounts and a full titanium akrapovich exhaust for sale for 23-25 yz450 if anyone is interested.

I kind of over looked this idea but today I tried a spark arrestor in my Yosh muffler and it really helped mellow out the hit at roll on. Definitely recommend trying if you are looking for that. The nice part is that I was able to bring my map back closer to stock fuel trim to keep the connected feel but not the jerky on/off. You will loose top end, but it’s still more than enough for me.
Prices and pics?
It’s all sold
I may have to try that out. Since the flywheel and throttle tamer I am back to the 555 fuel settings on the overall best power map on the vortex. I love the mid and top pull and the tamer really mellowed out the bottom. I need to get to some technical tracks to see if it mellowed it to much.
Hoping to have a set of the New Luxon rubber mounted engine mounts by sat so I can test them out sunday. After speaking with Billy at Luxon I am pretty pumped to try these out.
I am also a Hoosier guy and just mounted up there new HMX spec rear tire so will get to see how that is as well. Have been running there MX25F front & IMX25 rear for awhile now.
Anyone got any secret info on the 2026s yet? I know MXGP guys are using the 2022 Frames, I've heard some speculation at a change coming down but of course just rumors. I know Yamaha seems to drop their stuff Jul 31st.
Edit: just found the 2026 mx thread. Ill blow that up instead.
I had a fun day at GH this morning. I tried the new Luxon mounts(green rubber) with reduced OEM torque because of lubed bolts. My first impression was that I didn't feel a vibration change or rigidity difference. But I did notice more front new grip/feel. I was previously using FCP upper mounts and stock steel dual plate in the front using the FCP recommended torque spec.
I give it another back to back next week, interested if other riders feel a change, could have just been me, but I was trying to be honest with myself and pretend nothing was changed.
I just received mine, what are torque specs, I can’t find them.
It’s under the fitment section
Thank you!

5.4nm springs with 265ml oil and Enzo spring tubes
I went back to 5.0, 275cc and Enzo spring tubes and it’s been working much better for me than the stiffer spring. I’m 175lb. I still think I’ll get a new fork tune, but I’m getting much happier with the feel so far
I ended up cutting 2.5 inches off my pro circuit, the bike looks better and runs cleaner imo.

Pit Row
Anyone else have time to try the Luxon mounts?
I have 2 rides on them now. Im going out again today and tomorrow as well.
Do I feel a change yes. Is it a huge change? I dont think so. I have a good bit more comfort coming into chopped out hard packed rutted corners. This is where I am noticing it the most. I did have some pretty big flat landings that normally would have stung my wrists pretty bad that I noticed were softer on the hands.
We'll see how the next two days go.
Nice! Did you change from stock or FCP mounts?
Anyone else running a slipper clutch? I got the idea from road racing and Ken Roczens RMZ450 video. Been running the 14/52, Hinson Slipper clutch, one of Keefer's 25 maps, FMF pipe, hydro clutch, twin Air power flow kit, and upped the idle slightly. This bike flows like no other bike Ive owned.
My 2024 KX450X and 2025 YZ250F have more engine braking than my 2024 YZ450, draw in the clutch a tiny bit and you can go flying into corners. Still not on the level of a 2t but close.
FCP mounts.
Really liking the new Hoosier HMX spec rear tire as well.
I have a Hinson slipper. Can’t say I notice a huge difference but had one on my last bike and clutch life was crazy so got one for the YZ after smoking 1st set of plates in 15 hours.
Sorry for asking this. I believe this problem was covered in the earlier pages, but I didnt want to scrub 80 pages for the answer:
My '23 has 80 hours, was running perfect.
I cleaned my air filter at the track with gas, reinstalled the filter, the filter was still a little moist, bike would start but wouldnt run. I installed a new dry clean filter, no oil, and bike started up and ran fine for the rest of the day. Next time i go to ride my bike,, the bike runs like it has a fouled plug.
Bike starts up fine, runs fine on the stand, but once I ride the bike 15-20 mph down the street, the fouled plug syndrome starts up again.
Per Yamaha dealer service tech I replaced the map switch - this did not fix the problem.
I have a new plug, and a new Temp Sensor (sensor in the airbox) to install - I have not installed these yet, will this weekend.
Has anyone run into this problem? Solution? Was hoping to minimize the rabbit hole chase.
Yes dumb of me to chx filter at the track..
also, I am not getting any codes or errors from the map switch, just an orange blinking light that does not turn off.
I am pretty sure I know exactly what you're dealing with as I just went through it myself. I changed a bunch of stuff as well and nothing fixed it. The bike would run like a poorly jetted carbed bike and would feel like it wanted to die on me when off throttle, mainly when it would get hot.
It was the vent hose. The vent hoses on these bike kink easily and when warm and without proper venting, it was wanting to vapor lock on me and made the bike run terribly. I cut the kinked part out and am now much more cautious when routing the hose and seat cap. Give this a shot and I bet your issues go away.
Yamaha needs to figure out a better way to vent the tanks to avoid the kinked hoses.
Have you installed a new spark plug yet, or is that what you were trying next?
I cut the nipple off flush to the top of the cap and it lets it bend easier without kinking.
edit:
I read back to where I suggested a kinked hose to you. I'm glad that fixed your problems.
Nice! What color rubber are you using on Luxon mounts?
