I don't understand what happened with Checo, or the car. It's not like Perez doesn't know how to drive.

I’m just shocked to find so much Yuki support here.

Alex Albon did an interview where he describes the car as being hyper sensitive during his time there. It’s like turning the mouse on your computer up as far as it will go.

He said as the season went on they make the car more and more sensitive as max likes it, but it gets harder and harder to drive.

Not sure if checo had the same issues, but it is interesting to hear albon explain it.

Only thing that makes sense.

Didn’t RB lose there lead engineer or am I making that up?

You are correct, Adrian Newey went to Aston Martin this year.

If Yuki struggles I can see them firing him from RB completely. I really hope he doesn't, I like the kid a lot, but that seat next to Max is a career-ender.

LOL firing Yuki altogether? He has shown well enough to stay in F1 and it makes zero sense to let him go. If he struggles, it is simply more proof that Max is legit the best driver and the car needs a lot of work

You seem to have misread or misunderstood the post. I didn't say it would make sense, nor did I say that Yuki would deserve to be treated like that. I'm saying that Red Bull are a bit of a dumpster-fire right now and I can see them continuing to make those bad decisions including at Yuki's expense.

As for the Max thing, yeah he's the best driver right now. But it's also clear that the team have tried to build a car around him which is borderline undriveable for everyone else. Which is why I said that second seat is a career-killer and why I am a little worried for what it actually means for Yuki. I hope I'm wrong, I hope they give him a year and give him every chance to compete at the front... I just have a feeling history will repeat itself.

No, I understood you. But the firing even if they are a dumpster fire would solve nothing. No driver would touch the seat at that point. Not to mention there isn’t really any real talent left

I don't disagree with any of that either, it would be nuts but then this is Red Bull...

I know today is April Fool's Day, but last week I read that F1 is considering going back to V10 engines with sustainable fuels. The FIA confirmed it.

I also read about it back in February.

I truly hope this happens.   The sound of those engines was part of the experience.

If it happens it won't be until 2028.

New regulations are starting next year, but the current era engines could be extended until 2028.

We'll see what happen. Going back to V10 would be great.

i'm not a fan but i also don't dislike the guy, but all the in-car-audio that comes from his headset makes him sound like an asshole.

And Max shocks himself.

A one and a half second improvement from FP3 in quali is very surprising.

It seemed like there was more excitement in his voice on that cooldown lap, than he had all last season.  The car struggles may have rejuvenated Max.

MAX !!!

And please, please, PLEASE, let's hope we don't have to suffer through villeneuve in the booth tomorrow.

Also...

Much like RDL, we spend time watching russell flail around on his lap, while others were ripping.

🤔

Crazy fires around the track.

Usually Suzuka is drowning in rain.

Am glad to see they moved it up in the schedule.

You'd have thought they would have had a few water trucks driving around in the last few weeks to green things up for the F1 race.

So technically- If Lawson out qualified Yuki by one spot, the switch is actually working perfectly...

Yuki seemed real good in fp1 and then got worse ,

What the hell was up with his belts?

Seems like something that would have already been sorted out by qualifying.

Max got it done, and I thought Piastri would pass Norris near the end of the race. It was close.

I'm on Team Norris, but that pit lane merging was bad. If the grass is straight in front of you, you might be in the wrong

Does Lando know the difference between “alongside” & “behind”?

Also, do the McLarens have a legit pit-lane-speed limiting system?

As for “boring”?

Did you witness the 1st laps where ALL the drivers wisely took their time, stayed in the main line, dried the track out for several laps and very carefully opened up alternate lines?

Air and track temps were cold…pretty damn cold.

Personally, I’m impressed by the collective calm between all the drivers and I’m almost blown away by Tsunoda’s calmness & seemingly veteran-like chill as he takes the time and patience to learn the new car.

Lewis needs an engineer from his old camp to join him at Ferrari.

20 cars and even the upcoming 22 cars are not enough.

Toyota needs to get in there.

Volkswagen/Porsche/Audi needs to get in there…with 2 brands?

Stellantis needs to get in there under at-least 2 brands…Chrysler and Renault…?

Ford?

Hyundai/Kia…?

Chery…SAIC…?

The point: there’s more than enough Automotive Manufacturers out there to provide for a 30-40 car F1 grid.

I’m jus’ sayin’…
