I was confused by them not integrating an onboard charger. As someone pointed out to me, the only way this makes sense is if you see it as an homologated Enduro bike.

They need to be road homologated to enter some competitions but that does not really make it a real road bike suitable for short commutes.

This should come in time but that's not it.

Adding another 20ish lbs high on the bike isn't ideal, but if it was removable it wouldn't be a big deal.

Id like to see how the 50 state legal thing pans out in reality, there is a ton of leg work involved from the manufactures side getting all that to the point you can walk in the tag office and get a plate and title for your bike.

Their site says they provide a manufactures state of origin certificate which all new bikes come with now but it has to have certain wordage on it and not have the dreaded "not for highway use" words on it. Especially in a lot of states including here in NC some of this stuff is tough I've plated various dirt bikes throughout the years and I have had a lot of hope and pray it goes through the system and lets them print you out a registration.

Just a note, all of the fixes in this EX model are exactly why I have not pulled the trigger on the discounted MX model which I was kicking tires on.  It makes you wonder what improvements will come on the next MX model when it comes out (I know, who knows when that will be).

I guess I’ll hold off then. I was hoping this was truly a road focused bike but that seems to not be the case. I’ve got good riding 5 miles from my house but it seems like you’re going to burn up an awful lot of battery just commuting on roads. Also, if I can’t ride it longer distances on the road and recharge then it doesn’t make sense just yet. I had hopes of riding from central Oregon to the coast on this thing.

Yes definitely not the bike for so much road. They will have proper road bikes in some time, ofc others will too.

Let's install a couple of super chargers in China Hat.  A power bank stashed at some road intersection is a viable option running a 220 plug.

Just checked my account. New estimated delivery date got pushed back again till April 28. What the Fux!!! When I ordered mine on January 1, if they would’ve told me that I would not get it until early May I probably would’ve been OK with it and would’ve appreciated the transparency. But every time I look at my account, it gets, pushed back another week. If I didn’t already buy a bunch of aftermarket parts because I thought I was going to get it early March I would go out and buy a KTM.

The OG MX Stark order guys remind us that it took 2.5 years of delays to get their bikes.  The cutting edge production assembly process is crazy difficult these days no doubt.

Does anyone order anything state of the art anything and get it ontime nowadays?  Cars and trucks are a good example.

I totally agree that finding out a delivery delay on an order page or a forum post sucks.    I also agree that the delay dates changing without a simple e-mail to explain why sucks.
It seems like bad business to make promises and break them over and over.  For a company that brags about customer service I hate to get my current info from online forums while i am in a line for a bike off the line....

stark website spells it all out with easily digestible baby steps or just ask our friendly dealer to pick and choose all the options?

Forecasting a delivery date for a new, never been made before motorcycle is a dangerous game. The company needs to try and predict the best possible estimated timeline. If one essential part is delayed, the delivery date suffers.
Having a little patience as a new buyer is part of the process here. Stay calm, these EX Vargs are almost here.

All about being patient, just don’t like that they never notify me when things change. I find out when I go to the portal and it’s a surprise.  They are blaming KYB.

This is by no means a whine and bitch post, just a heads-up on a kinda hidden fee I got w my state that goes off purchase date.

I am in Oregon and on my Stark EX Order Page I got this last week-
Paperwork- Complete your vehicle purchase and kick-off any applicable registration process by signing the necessary documents

You will be asked for the following documents:

Important: The vehicle buyer must be the person who signs the documents in this section

Proof of Use Tax Paid

The "Proof of Use Tax Paid" was kind of a pain to figure out in the Oregon revenue online tax payment portal.
My tax was like $70 but i got hit with PENALTIES AND INTEREST because the state goes off the day you purchased the bike.
So it came out to $93.

This is another good reason to buy from a local dealer- I would have avoided this extra tax.
It is kind of a bummer to learn about this a couple months in.  And to require us to have proof of active insurance and then have a couple month delay.

The Stark link to how/ where i am supposed to upload the tax receipt form leads to a blank webpage.
Is anyone else having to pay a silly tax like this?  Is the portal to upload the receipt working for you?
Thanks all!

Do they notify you when you get pushed back or do you have to find out on your own and log into the portal?

You have to check yourself, I haven't received any emails since they gave me the initial early May date. I went through the same thing with my Rivian with schedule changes, lack of communication, spec changes, and eventually issues around delivery. That process took 2 years - so I have some experience with this. Ultimately I love the car and I expect the Varg to be worth the wait too. I just hope it doesn't get delayed past summer.

Hey guys check in on your Varg account.

I had DMV documents to sign probably sitting there for a week or three- DMV Power of Attorney forms i never saw before.  They gave a return label for a NY, NY address via ground.
Carry on.

First full pull on the road last night. My opinion is she gets her best battery burn rate in the 40mph range. I did a couple hwy runs at 75mph and that is an obvious drain. Overall, I traveled 42 miles in an hr on an average speed of 55mph. That's pretty damn good! IMG 1062 1

I didn't know US deliveries had started, you must be one of the very first US owners, congrats on your new bike.

Did you try to play with power curves yet?

I have not adjusted the power curve yet. Riding at 70hp and 40 regen. Wheelies for days at 70hp! The bike is so rad in many different ways.
