Is there rust on any of the cracks?

I'm wondering if the cracks started small and propagated over time.

As for surface rust on the cracks - doesn't look much different on one end vs the other, so one might conclude it happened all at once, or over a relatively short amount of time.

I had an oil leak on my new 25 KTM 300SX. Ended up being an improperly installed clutch cover gasket. but at that time KTM told the dealer they would no longer be warrantying race bikes. That was sometime near the end of 24. Just relaying what I was told.

That sucks. That will make them like all of the other manufacturers.

Correct, there is zero warranty on 2025 KTM competition models.

An oil leak is one thing. The OPs cracked frame (if it was indeed a manufacturing defect) is on a whole different level IMO.

The reply wasn't related to the oil leak, it was KTM telling the dealer they would no longer warranty race bikes. As far as the frame, guess time will tell?

Update:  KTM came through and replaced the frame.  Took a little while to get things all sorted, but it worked out in the end.

Glad to hear they’re still honoring things like this, was worried with all the financial drama that they might have tightened up on how good they were with warranting certain stuff. Still one of the strangest and gnarliest frame breaks I’ve seen.

They should want the frame back to figure out why it broke.

I would imagine they will. Or hope they would anyway.
