Hi all,
Quick question. helping my buddy resurrect his 05 YZ250 n are working on finishing up the SSS conversion. With all yz250 2t parts ranging in year from 2006-2016 (see below) I’m thinking everything should bolt up pretty well. However, he seems skeptical that the ‘06 clamps will work.
2014 SSS Forks
2014 caliper and carrier
2016 front wheel
2006 triple trees
Any insight would be great, thanks in advance!

P.s. chain tension has been addressed.
Did you measure the clamps?
If all those parts are from a YZ250 two stroke, then you're good. It only gets tricky when you mix between 125, 250, and four stroke parts.
Couldn’t ask for a better clamp subject matter expert to chime in! Awesome, I was nearly sure we have all the parts dialed to make it work.. and yep I avoided 125 stuff as I believe the stem can be shorter in some cases, then all the 4t stuff because I knew it’d be a headache. Thanks again man, keep crushin it!
If you run that 2014 caliper and carrier, you'll want to use the 2008 and later YZ/YZ-F master with it. The piston diameters changed and the old master with the new caliper won't give you much braking power.
If you still have the 2005 caliper, it should fit directly on the 2014 carrier bracket allowing you to bolt it directly to the late model KYB fork lug.
Dubach and Keefer have popularized using that 2005 caliper with a brembo master cylinder from a KTM on their current model YZs and YZ-Fs as a brake power upgrade.
