RC is the Richard Petty of motocross. Only on two wheels, on dirt, with strict rules.

Even if Bubba beats MC's 89 win record, he still couldn't hold his jock.!

How many Championship Titles in the big bike class? Oh yeah. The number is 3. Little ways to go but he is very, very young and has at least 10 years of racing left in him.

I predict that James won't break RC's SX win record. Feel it in my bones...

More than about 99.99% of the people that have ever participated in this sport.

Will Bubba... or Blubba even get those 9 wins?...

The entire "How many titles does James have in the big bike class?" is a weak response since a rider's success in this sport is not measured entirely (though perhaps primarily) by titles. If we are going by "big bikes", how many titles does KW have in the 450's? What about Ryan Villopoto? These are two fan favorites who can say they have had successful careers, and the reason they can say that is because success is measured differently than just by titles. How many titles does MC have outdoors (one)? Grant Langston has equaled that with one big bike outdoor title. How many supercross titles did David Bailey win? The list goes on, and it is silly to measure a rider's success by only the amount of titles they have. Again, singling out James just shows a bias that some are working with.

Just because some people like myself criticize his decision to quit (I don't think he would have if he was in first), and then stonewall Erin Bates on some questions (something I feel is totally lame) doesn't mean that we don't recognize him as an accomplished and amazing athlete.

James is one of the most dynamic and amazing riders the sport has ever seen. Watching him race in moto one made last Saturday feel like a motocross holiday. And maybe the frustration people express towards him is because they simply miss watching him race?

Yes, RC's 125cc National wins are included. 125SX wins are not included.

125MX - 26
250MX - 76
250SX - 48

Total - 150

I like that "250" number. Wish it was still that way.

Yes they are included, and why would you not count 125 national wins? They were probably harder to win than the MX class! MC only had 2 125 wins in 3 years of racing that class!Whistling just sayin

DV12 is another fan favorite. Heck, JMB only won three AMA titles. Do we measure his success against that number? Of course not, we measure his success for his smooth style, his enigmatic nature whereby he came, he saw, he conquered, and he left, and we measure it by his ability to do what he did on a dirt bike. KW's success is his smooth style and grace on a bike, and his rapport with the fans. We respect these guys because of what they do on and off a bike, not just titles won.

Maybe you should read the original post again. Spy didn't write that titles aren't important. He/she wrote that they aren't the only thing measuring a rider's career.

Do you really believe that James' accomplishments and the accomplishments of Jason Lawrence are similar through their careers? I think that there is the bias the Spy said some are working with. What do you think about what Windham has accomplished during his career? Ferry? DV? Tedesco?, Short? etc

Easy there. The guy is easily most of the most talented guys to ever ride a bike, personal feeling for him aside. Not everyone can be RC and eat, sleep , breathe, and bleed motocross. We should be proud we got to see two of the baddest mofos to ever come along in our lifetimes. Bubba's gonna have to put in the work to beat the Boss and pretty sure after Unadilla he knows it if he didn't before. No reason he can't get 2-3 more titles in the next five years. I don't see one rider dominating indoors and outdoors with RD, RV, and whoever else steps up in the coming years. For sure some great racing for all of us to see!

I guess guys like Barnett, Lechien, Cooper, Lamson, Pastrana, Bradshaw, Windham, Holland, Dymond, Reynard, and Kehoe (and the guys that Stephon named) must really suck??? How about LaRocco, Henry, O'Mara, and Emig because overall their list of titles isn't any better than James'.

You talk a lot of shit to not not know shit.

125 Outdoor titles should be included. Lites SX titles and FIM sx titles mean nothing.
James has 5 championship titles under his belt. Not 3. Not to bad considering he has only been racing for 20 years or so. Most guys like KW and RV can't say the same.

lotta dumb in this thread.

What RCM said was true. He's an amazing rider. You don't have to like him to know that. And who cares if some of these folks have dreams about the dude?
