I agree with a lot of your posts and disagree with almost as many.

I am not quite as adamant of a trump supporter as you and several others.

I voted for him because an egomaniac with questionable ethics was still a better option to me than Clinton, Biden, and Harris.

I hoped that he would settle down after he was elected again, much like he did with the "Lock her up" rhetoric after 2016.

instead, he has turned much of his blathering into a personal Vendetta.

The way he is handling tariffs is just ridiculous. scattered, unpredictable, and unreasonable.

Who is going to make any capital investment to move production back here when the tariffs could disappear before you even get bids on equipment?

He better get focused and make sure they will have the outcome he hopes for, because if they cause inflation to tick up again, and people lose value on their retirement accounts and investment portfolios, a lot of the moderates that swung the vote his way are going to lose faith in him enough that he will lose the house and/or senate in the mid-terms.

Like I said earlier, he is not going to make a good lame duck, although it will give him a good excuse for not keeping promises.

I also hope the republican party gets some balls and is able to function without having to kiss his ring.

I would probably vote for mike pence before Tim Scott, Marco rubio, or Jd Vance.

He put his belief in what was better for the country ahead of his own interests, and whether you agree with him or not, his commitment was respectable, and it is what we need in a few more candidates on both sides.

Well I'm still paying .10 less than avg in illinois than at any time during biden or the last 4 of obama. An thats with having one of the gas plants out here having some issues that took them off line for 2 weeks a 2 months back.

I would definitely vote for President Trump again in ‘28. Not sarcasm. We have a true leader with President Trump. Imagine how fucked we’d be if Kamala had won. I do not understand why some people not like him. I think some people are brainwashed by the msm to hate him and everything he does. It’s hard for me to believe people are against ending waste, fraud, and abuse, aand a secure border just because Trump is for it. Good luck!

I could see Marco Rubio running against JD Vance in 2028, with Rubio quitting his position as Secretary of State mid way through 2027 to launch his campaign. 

I agree and that’s the only scenario I can see playing out in the Democratic favor.

Silly me was hoping that we would be hearing about installing term limits for the house and senate. Instead he is talking about getting rid of them for himself.  I’m loosing hope.

If he can legally run again for whatever reason, damn right at this point in time I'd vote for him again. Unless he does something that completely fucks everything up. I'm more worried about Congressmembers and senators at the state and federal level over staying their  welcome.

In fact if the govement put a rule in place for Congressmembes 2-3 terms and your out, unless you hit predetermined benchmarks for your state then you could run again. If your state is safe and prosperous you can stay for 4 or 5 terms max. I don't see why not.

Same with president's. 8 years is fuck all useless Enough time to fuck shit up but not long enough to cement anything good. Now a days our politicians and other world leaders know that they only need to plan 8 years on any president and their gone . Thats theie chance to undo anything they did. With president's I would be fine with a 4 term max. 2 terms as we do now and a 3rd term if by predetermined economic, educational and maybe even military/defense/ war benchmarks are met. 4th if their met again.

We need to do something to start rewarding these people if they do their job and if their not be able to keep them from running again. Right now its just a popularity contest in truth. By having a set in stone benchmarks that everyday,  couldn'  care less person can look at and see would help tremendously. This is the whole reason democrats and liberals invest so much time, money and work so hard for the 10-25year old vote. They have nothing to base their opinions on as they have zero references to life other than their family, community and now social media. An obviously children mostly love to be the rebellious ones. This is also i feel the reason more of gen z is becoming more independent and leaning right in some instances. Their starting to have life experiences that are not lining up with what democrats are preaching. 

Illinois most be an anomaly, as national gas prices were 3.175 in November, 3.139 in December and 3.223 in March. Nationally we are paying more for gas

Gas in 2016 had a month of 1.86

0 doubt in my mind he wants to be President till he passes away. I seriously doubt that Congress and the military and the Secret Service would go along with him staying past January 2029. But maybe I’m too optimistic or naive. The thing I’m most worried about is what he and Vance do if a Democrat wins in 2028. We already saw what all they tried to do in 2020. Vance has already stated he would not oversee the certification like Pence did in 2020. Look how smooth the transition was in January of 2025. No issues. Peaceful transfer of power. It won’t be that way if Democrats win in 28. What happens then?

I wish people on this board would just talk to each other civilly. I’d bet we agree on more than we don’t. I’m likely labeled a far leftist and on other forums I’m labeled a Republican 😂. OP is correct in that people blindly following their team no matter what is why we are cooked. 330 million people and we have only two major parties. Sad.
