Haven’t had an issue with mine and I’ve owned a few pairs of SG12s. Gaernes are the best boots on the market hands down. I’m about to buy some SG22s. It’s unfortunate A stars no longer makes their boots in Italy

SG22’s are amazing. Try a pair on back to back with SG12’s, and you won’t beable to buy the 12’s no matter the price

I bought gaerne boots for about 600 bucks many years ago and I ended up selling them since I couldn't use the rear brake with them. The soles where banana shaped so I had to bend the knee to reach the brake even with it adjusted upwards maximum. Was a very nice boot but I couldn't ride in em.
The SG12's are almost as loud as Tech 7's!
Maybe you should use silicone instead of WD40 since you're applying to a plastic?
Not washing your boots also seems to help reduce the noise.
I sent my boots to a guy on here years ago and they came back all squeaky too.

Yes, both pairs I got squeak loudly any movement at all and they squeak.

Not to hijack the thread but something changed because the soles on my current Tech 7s have held up WAY better than in the past.

Your footpegs become less sharp over time.
I've gone back and forth from Sg12s to tech 10s over the years. Most recently back from T10s into SG12s. The tech 10s feel like they weigh literally double the weight of the gaernes. I was actually shocked how light they felt bc I forgot.
Sharp pegs don’t wear boots out, dull pegs do.
The 12s squeezed the piss out of my ankles and foot sadly, are the 22s better about this?
thats why i switched to sg-12's from Astars. I put a few sets of A'stars thru to my socks in a few months. Gaerne's are holding up a lot better

Gaerne soles have a good reputation for lasting longer than other soles.
Try walking barefoot across gravel, try it again across broken glass.

I bought 12s about 10 years apart from my first pair and the new set don't feel as plush as the first set. I kept trying to tell myself my old ones are well broken is all abut my second set still feel really stiff.
Sharp pegs keep the boot planted, dull pegs let the boots slide all over and lacerate the sole. Try running your hand over a cheese grater and observe the outcome, looking forward to hearing the results.
My pegs are sharp as can be and my SG12s original sole from 2019 looks great with over 150 hours of ride time on them.
After wearing instincts, here's how i feel like G's or tech 10s lol..
Been on at least four or five new bikes since I have had these boots and ride 100+ hrs a year. Bought these TECH 7s mid 2023. Used to get about 6 months out of them.
