From what I saw, mostly republican side had it as a big talking point, then Trump said he'd change the price in 24 hours, then nothing happened and now life is going on.
Complaints about how the previous administration let price gouging/inflation run rampant were non-stop in every political thread on this board. It was such a massive talking point across the U.S. that during the Trump campaign he made a promise that he would slash egg and gas prices so fast our heads would spin, and that he would stand up to Big Farms and Big oil. They'll listen to him and not lobbyists.
So either he was lying to the public for votes, or he has no actual control over those prices. Which is it?

It surprises me that folks want to take everything Trump says as literal, word for word.
Its Trump bluster. Its his schtick. He intertwines it along with some bullshitting, salesmanship and some comedy to give the message of the general direction he wants to go in.
I get the idea of what he wants to do and overlook the bluster.
Words matter. Is he a liar or is he incapable of doing what he promised?

Look, we are not talking about some dude in a bar talking about how many head of cattle he has on his ranch, these are the words of a man that was running for, and won, the presidency. He made that tweet and people took him at his word. If he was just bullshitting about that, what else is he bullshitting the public about?
Bidenomics raised prices because of supply and demand. He increased the supply of dollars by printing money to pay for his liberal programs. The increase in money flowing around caused prices to raise (inflation).
Egg prices went up because biden ordered chickens to be slaughtered. This decreased the number of eggs being laid (less supply). Couple that with printing money, and eggs cost $14 a dozen.
You knew this. You just want to be a dork about it.

I will give examples of liars vs bullshitters.
Hillary Clinton is a liar. She made up the Russia stuff, that Trump was an agent of Russia. SHE EXPECTED US TO BELIEVE HER.
Trump says on day 1 he will lower egg prices and end Ukraine war. He knows that we know he can't do that. It's bluster (bullshit). It's a way of communicating optimism that the problem will dealt with sooner then later.
