How do privateers, such as him, afford to travel all around the country to race and make a living? Genuinely curious.

At this point it’s a hobby. Homie is drinking the night before the race. He’s obviously a good rider but just lives life.

He’s a social media influencer that gets to race supercross on the side. Seems like a good time to me

His sponsors are too stupid to realize that he's just going through the motions and cashing their checks. He's made it clear in the past that they don't care about his results and he's taken full advantage of it.

As long as the social media engagement stays high them checks will keep cashin. 
He does need to start making some main events if he wants to stay relevant in the grand scheme of things though

As a father of a privateer, I have some insight.  Many of the privateers that occasionally qualify for mains or consistently make the night shows, have sponsors for most of their expenses.  This is the key to being a successful privateer.  Sponsors cover your expenses and you make money from the race purse money, gear/manufacturer contingencies and team bonuses if applicable. 

Obviously, some guys drive all night, sleep in their vehicle and show up on their own dime.  Kudos to their efforts, but I imagine that's tough to do for very long.   

While it's nothing like a factory supported rider, privateers like Logan are actually making money at the sport.
