This Dragon will be installed at the main entrance. Still some detailing to be done to finish off.

Yes...the Dragons balls will be red....

Medsun and Gift...my two apprentists..I'm passing on all my knowledge to these two dudes. They came from Blantyre, Malawi in search of a better life. Both are solid dudes and are keen on learning.

Nice work.  Who's castle?  And what are those black masks for?

The Castle is owned by a overseas couple. The mask, there is only one which was found in the trash.....we had to try it out.Grinning

It’s sad that some of the most beautiful places are so fucked up

That is horrific.

Funny how we don't hear much about any of this in the states.

Trump did say yesterday that things were a mess in South Africa. I'm sure he has known all along, but is now going to do something about it.

Boom, have you ever given any thought, or is there any viability in hoping over to Madagascar with how close it is to S. Africa?  From what I've read the political and economic climate is pretty stable.  Couldn't tell you the first thing about the place, but it seems it's getting to the point that anything would be better than S. Africa.

Considering what’s going on in South Africa, with your life in danger, I would think that you would have a good case to seek asylum in America. I’m not sure how all of that works though.

I love South Africa, the climate is awesome and the food is damn good here. The country is beautiful but we have serious challenges.

I get real down sometimes, the last few day the anxiety was killing me.

I'll be ok ya all, this is my home and I'll make the best of it.

Myself and my family have some real big challenges to face pretty soon but one way or another we will pull through.

I'm pretty sure I've suggested this before , Boom, but have you checked out moving to OZ?

It's not easy. but...... and, your age might be a problem. Daughters completed education, ready for careers? That may offset your age / relative closeness to retirement, that might work against you

Specifically:  West Australia.

There's Always work in Mining there - they Always need skilled Tradesmen / Engineers - Hell anyone that can Fix , Maintain and Make things, such as a bloke like you.

There's a Lot of Sef Efricans in WA / OZ, by the way.

Hang in there, Boom

Thanks Bear, yes we have had an eye at Australia. If we decide to go anywhere it will be New Zealand.

Honestly, I'm a bit long in the tooth to move out of my house, it just sounds like a huge grind to relocate to another country and start all over. I would do it for America though as both my wife and myself would have no problem getting good paying jobs there....but it's near impossible to get that work visa or immigration opportunity for the USA. I've given that idea up after a long costly struggle with immigration attorneys and relevant authorities.

Cape Town is awesome. I love my job and get paid pretty well so I have no complaints.

My wife and myself have saved R1.4 mil to put down on a house but the problem is we can't get a bond due to our age...we are still trying.

The only other option is to buy cash in a cheaper area...BUT..a cheaper area means living amongst people who really don't like us white folk and that thought is scary.

Ideally it would be great to buy the place I'm currently in (I've been in that house 16 yrs) but we will need to bond the R650 thou short fall.

Like I said in another post above, I'm just tired of the endless struggle..I'm not the only one, I guess everyone here faces daily challenges.

We just have to keep grinding on....

New Zealand!

There's too many of those bloody Horrible Kiwis there, and I Don't mean those little flightless little  things............

(We Luvs Yuz Kiwis)

But, with yours's and theirs's (weird) Accents, you might well fit in!

But, to be  serious for a moment,  The Age Thing looms Large.

Heck, I'd love to do the FAFO ( Fly IN, Fly Out) thing out west, I'd love the work, and, despite my disabilities, I can work Effectively,  Efficiently, and Hard, and can do most anything when it comes to Fab and Engineering.

But, my age has stopped it in it's tracks, for years now. In my 50s. it hindered things, and well, at 65, there's not a hope in hell. I really would like a crack at it again.

I'm not sure there'd be much Engineering work in Un Zud - they are too busy bothering Sheep ........ sorry, I just can't resist picking on our Cuzzy Bros' over The Ditch! I am, quite the bastard.........

Jeez Boom....   it's one hit after another.   😟

I understand why OC did, but checking out is NOT the answer in your situation.      As mentioned above, you have loved ones who need you.   Please reach out and get help.

You need to get yourself and your family OUT and make a change.    It's going to be tough, but it will be worth it.

You are in my prayers man.     Stay strong and don't let these bastards win....

Im about to leave work  17h32....My wife just called. She has just arrived home with the girls to find our house has been hit again.

The cunts ransacked the place and left a mess. Cleaned us out and also took my BW100 scooter which I have spent a small fortune on bumping it up to a 126...My Tomac graphix kit was ordered but now the bike is gone.

Everything we own as a family was bought through hard honest work and now some bunch of scumbags pull in with a maintenance pickup and act as they were commissioned to do work..instead we got burgled.

The worst part for me is having to go to the local SAPs...South African police to report this. They will smirk and give me a hard time as for them, it's great accomplishment when africans screw a white folk over.

I'm so tired of this shit...

The good news is my bike was found around the corner in a bush. The rest with be a schlep with HO insurance but it's damn upsetting that unwelcome people was in our home.

I've taken the day off work to deal with this crap.

Two sets of balustrades forged out of 30mm solid bar and fitted. Was 2 months of hard graft for me but very happy with the outcome.

I've removed some of the ugly stuff. Decided that this thread should only be about the good side of my country and surrounds.

We all know the troubles so I want to try and be a little more positive.

The Tugela Falls in the Drakensberg are the second highest in the World. Absolutely breathtaking to experience the views from up there.

I made eight of theses cabinet doors out of Afromosia (African teak) for a client and now I'm  busy sealing and staining them with Woodoc marine and colour.

I'm not very skilled at woodwork but am rather proud of these.

Woodoc is a great product.

So the very one's who were throwing open our southern border, in hopes of shifting the voting demographics,  are suddenly against the true America loving refugees from south Africa  ???

Interesting.

I'm pretty proud of this little control box that I made for a friend. He is off to Africa Burn with his flame thrower and smoke ring (woofies) units.

The buttons on the control box is still to be labeled.
