I love it. My dad just gave me the book this is supposed to be based on. Think I'll just watch it first. But very well made so far.

First two were good, I thought. Anxiously awaiting tonight's episode.

At first I wasn't sure about the portrayal of Washington, but I really like the way the guy has done it thus far.

Great mini series, I love historical dramas. I like how they portray how tough life was back then more soldiers died from the pox than bullets.

We were getting HBO for free this weekend and I DVR-ed 3 different episodes of John Adams. In which order should I watch them?

no more counting sheetrock, Rat. Moved back up to the big time- General Contracting, bidding 15 million dollar commercial buildings.

So, I count brick, block, and cuyds of concrete now.

Spell it with me now- J-U-S-T-I-C-E

I caught a little bit of two segments. I don't get HBO but the cable company was having a free weekend so I was checking it out. I didn't even realize it was a mini-series until I saw the ending of the second segment. I was like WTF. Giamatti is good. Free weekend is over so I guess I won't get to see the whole thing. Too bad.

There will be some top quality crapmanship on those shit boxes, I'm sure of it. And the best part is if there is any money made on the project after all of you monkeys get done rubbing your fingers all over it,... You won't see a cent. Now get back to counting bricks before your boss catches you fucking off.

Which part is is where he goes to France? 2 or 3

Nevermind. I looked at the link in the first post and it looks like I've seen pieces of parts 2 & 3. Really wish I could see the whole thing. Wonder if it will come out on dvd?

Just got to finish last night's show "Reunion". They really are letting Giamatti play Adams up as quite the whiny little bitch, aren't they???

I think it's pretty good, No idea what Adams was like but it's a pretty good History lesson.

I caught a few minutes of it while flipping channels the other night and it looked pretty good. I just assumed it was a long series and I had missed out on too much of it so I didn't bother watching. I see now that it is a 7 part miniseries, and I can watch the past episodes on the "Charter On-Demand" cable thing. Sounds like it's worth catching up on. Not much else worth watching these days, and way too long before Entourage rolls around again.

Giamatti's dad is none other than The Bart Giamatti. Comes from some pretty intelligent stock.
[i:3cbqvvsm]
His father, A. Bartlett Giamatti, was a professor of Renaissance Literature at Yale University, and went on to become the university's youngest president. (In 1986, Bart Giamatti was appointed president of baseball's National League. He became Commissioner of Baseball on April 1, 1989 and served for five months until his untimely death on September 1, 1989. He was commissioner at the time Pete Rose was banned from the game.) Paul's mother, the former Toni Smith, was an actress before she married Dr. Giamatti. Paul's father has written six books.[/i:3cbqvvsm]

And he's a Skull and Bones guy.

how about that.

I guess Pete isn't watching John Adams religiously. Unless he's found a way to bet on it

The night I read this post, I went ahead and watched the first 3 episodes, then watched #4 yesterday. Damn good stuff, with just perfect casting. David Morse is just uncanny as George Washington. I'd like to see a whole new series based on him.
