Anybody care that the riders don't like the triple crown format?

It's a nice change-up a few times a season....but NO....not for every week.

The best thing about triple crowns is we get to see 6 main events a night.

Sexton "won" without winning a race. Same thing happened with Webb last year or 23? It's garbage. Sure, the action is good sometimes but it's so hollow. Imagine explaining this to a casual or first time fan: "yeah so he didn't win anything but he won..."

Its no different to the outdoors. Heaps of riders win the overall without winning a moto, and no one complains 🤷

I agree. Qualifying practices hold almost more weight than the heat races leaving one race that decides the night.

You've got me there, and you're not wrong. But I guess not winning 2 motos and winning is still better than not winning 3 motos and winning.

Exactly what my wife said about these races years ago.     "What do you mean, he won without winning?"

I like the format, more action that means something.  Agree though that the guy who “wins” doesn’t necessarily have to have won anything on the night.  I would change the points or scoring system to reward individual race wins more.  So let’s say for the overall, keep the Olympic scoring system, but a race wins gets a 0, rather than a 1.  Another way to make it more exciting would be to pay bonus points per race.  Let’s say 3 points for a win in an individual race, 2 for second, one for third.  This way the top guys will keep charging even if they have the overall wrapped up.  Also it’s a big bag of points if you can sweep 1-1-1, which should be rewarded.
