Yeah, nah Lucas. 

The Lawrences and Wasserman knew about things for at least two weeks. Both those parties would have set the best forensic accountants to work to see what happened with the accounts, then the best lawyers to assess their legal status and any risk in regards to sacking Mirtl. They then dropped the hammer. If there was any doubt or differences in opinion between Wasserman and Lawrences this would not have been synchronized. 

Mirtl sounds like a guilty man trying to gain public sympathy.

Agreed.  I am not saying he is guilty or not caught up in a giant misunderstanding, or isn't being authentic when he claims this came out of nowhere, but WMG and all involved would not be reckless and just fire the guy on speculation.  A certain amount of diligence was done to the point they felt comfortable pulling the trigger.
