As the title reads, I’m heading to the Glendale round but I need some help. For anyone that has been to State Farm stadium for SX, how’s it like there? I understand that stadium has a retractable roof but I want to make sure I plan accordingly for the family (ie: jackets, gloves, etc). Is it “warmer” in there since it’s enclosed or do they maintain the roof open? Also, how is the pit experience there? Easy to go between the stadium for qualifying back to the pits? Any kind of help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys 🤘

Saturday temps H/L is 73/47. Basically perfect. It will likely be sunny and warm walking the pits during the day and then cool, a little chilly walking out of the stadium at 9pm after the race. Bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. I typically tolerate pants during the heat of the day so that I am not chilly while sitting watching the race all night.
Two years ago they had the smoke/fumes issue. Last year they seemed to have the ventilation dialed and kept the roof partially open all night and it was cool and a sweatshirt was nice to have.
It is very easy to go back and forth from the stadium to the pits in between qualifying sessions. The crowd can be a little jammed in the entrance they use for that but it's only a few seconds of cow herd conditions to tolerate. Bring 1 Monster can for each person to get in the pits.
That’s perfect, exactly what I was hoping to hear. I remember the issue with the exhaust fumes a bit back, glad to see that it wasn’t an issue anymore. I appreciate the heads up, sounds like the ideal temp!
They still do the monster can deal?
They did at both Anaheim rounds and San Diego. I believe there’s only one round they don’t but can’t recall.

Helpful hits:
Parking:
Park by Dave and Busters or AMC movie theaters. No charge and easy to get out. Or hit some golf balls at top golf, then walk over to the stadium. Parking at the stadium is expensive and if your close to the exits, people walk by the cars and some mirrors end up missing.
Pits:
Monster can. Get there when gates open, go right to the pits, do your stuff then go watch qualifying. Go back and forth at the stadium sucks. A hint for getting in the pits later is, the line from the pit entrance to the front doors is long, go complete around the other side a head into the pits from the red zone, way faster.
Good to know about the pit entrance, saves me the hassle of trying to figure out where it is lol. Luckily we’re staying at the hotel across the stadium so we don’t really have to worry about parking. I appreciate the heads up tho
I used to live in the apartments beside those hotels behind Cabelas, it was a great area. I even saw Mitch when I was walking home. Plenty to do at the Westgate entertainment district - Have fun!
Yeah we’ll be checking that out Friday, have a birthday dinner for the wife in that area. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it!
tips for local off road riding while in town??
I'm not much of an offroader, but these guys seem to be the go-to for people coming from out of town.

Thanks for that, but ill be fully loaded in my van with everything i need. Just need some local knowledge, on a mission to find tasty single track 🍻
You can still reach out to the guys at ready to ride, Ryan Wells is a great guy. Ton of local knowledge and a great rider. I'm sure you could get something set up as a guide. Also reach out to G-Man on here. He's local and can probably hook you up with some suggestions. I'm not local anymore, otherwise I'd go riding with you!
Will be visiting from Australia, flying in on Saturday morning and heading straight to the Stadium. Anyone keen for a catchup or beers after, please reach out. Hoping to make it a memorable experience and a bit of adventure.
I don't think there is too much out on the Glendale side of town (west side). Our favorite place to ride was always out at Sycamore Creek/Four Peaks, a little east of Fountain Hills right off the 87. Lots of variety, some pretty good single track if you head north across the main wash, lots of bermed out sandy trails, some short but steep hill climbs, etc. I have not been there in about 8 years, but last time I was there it was still pretty much the same except access was a little easier but unfortunately people had left large amounts of trash in the staging areas near 87. That was a bummer to see....
They call it Four Peaks here, but it is the same area: https://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/arizona_13155/ride_298f…
Thank you!
Boulders OHV Area - Arizona Motorcycle and ATV Trails
Closer to the stadium and honestly, better riding. Stay off the main double track to avoid SXS's. There is hundreds of miles of single track to explore out there.
Sweet!! Thats what i was looking for! Thank you
Ive driven past that spot in my way to Sedona and always wondered if it was any good.
Came here to suggest this. I used to live in north Peoria and would ride Boulders (we called it mile marker 11 back in the day) a few times a month. There is quite a bit of single track out there, so you shouldn't be disappointed. Hopefully with the rain we got yesterday, the dirt is at least half decent.
Pit Row
Mile marker 11.5 if I remember correctly. Can you still ride to Crown King from there? Although it might be chilly in Crown King.
What day will you be riding? I have a buddy leading a group ride at 8am on Saturday. He runs a singletrack riding tour company so should be a solid ride. Probably 30 miles of intermediate to advanced single track.
Hmmm this sounds interesting especially since ill be solo now as some dudes flaked lol. But then some better friends invited me to a occotillo ride so now im torn.
Thank you OB
Let me know. I’ll get you in contact if you want. I’m going to the race but having a 2 year old is hurting my riding time for the day.
Im in! Please hook me up, some other Vital bros are doing me a solid at the races.
“I love it when a plan comes together” A team baby
This is his company https://www.arizonadirtbiketours.com/
I will dm you his phone number. Name is Travis. Not an “official” ride so no worries.
Just dm’d you his info. Let me know if you didn’t get it. Like I said, no strings attached. Just trying to help out a fellow moto guy.
Thank you bro! Much apreciated
Last time I did that ride was 2-3 years ago and it wasn't a problem. Pretty fun ride, but yea, wouldn't be overly warm this time of year. I think it was mid-end of March the last time we rode there and it was 80 degrees when we left and when we got to Crown King it was around 50ish with snow on the ground.
Jealous
Thanks for the help guys! Checking out qualifying now
