That 1 minute 30 second clip from that race with the DV fist pump getting through the section and James trying to get up the hill has to be the funniest moment that (I) seen in the history of MX.Laughing Laughing

Biggest mistake? Could be my experience if you go from what Oscar Wilde was saying:

Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.

Either way, I don't regret anything. Not the photo shoot, not Bookoo or anything else. I lived my dream, won races, met my wife, got great kids, made money.

MX/SX gave me so much and still love it so much
Wow, one of the best posts on VMX ever.

You are still a badass to me Cobra!

Agree with the photo shoot incident but not your other theory. I forget what year it was, but he had like a 20 point lead on RC and was looking like his championship! I think it was that year at Indy supercross that Travis Pastrana, RC, and DV went at it for 20 laps. TP went down then DV passed RC with 2 laps to go. Amazing race although, sorry DV, I was rooting for 199! lol I remember that night he was wearing the ugliest neon green and yellow gear on his zook. lol You probably had to have a tinted lens behind him!

"photo shoot incident?" I've followed the sport pretty close for a long time....but, I don't recall what that is. Anyone want to enlighten me?

PS-- What is the point of pointing out a mistake years after he is retired?

Biggest highlight was that dash for cash at the US Open...the goon ride. I had not laughed like that in a long time!

I say DV's biggest mistake was not punching that dipshit who ran the BooKoo team.

2002... Won first 2 races, won Indy, podium every race... After 8 races, I have 20 points lead in the Championship in front of RC... Weekend off, I do a photoshoot for FMF and TWMX... I crash big time, concussion and broken shoulder blade... I miss Daytona only and RC won. I come back in New Orleans, get 3rd in on of the worst pain I ever had. There are pix of me crying on the podium somewhere... I podium the rest of the races while RC wins the title and I finish second.

WOW thanks for the enlightenment , makes me wonder how much you would have changed RC's confidence had you won that year...

I remember the same stuff in the Astrodome when DV12 was the only person who had anything for Showtime and they were dueling close. Great times.

DV, I have always been curious about the bookoo days. We all watched the show, it made for good tv, but always wondered what your candid thoughts were about it. I know tv tends to "edit for drama and excitement", and that you and Lucky didnt exactly get on each others Christmas card list, but from the outside looking in, it seemed like Bookoo had a decent setup. Has enough time passed to throw us outsiders an inside look?

DV's Best Goon ride was at the USSX on the MDK Honda...

He goon'd his "Timed Lap" and brought the House Down!

Classic Jerry Lewis impression...

I remember DV riding at Foxhills in the 90s too, we all thought he was kick ass cause he was doing nac nacs over the table top after the big up hill step up in practice. At that time we only saw pics of nac nacs by MC in Trials and Motocross news! haha. Think we were about 15 at the time!
