emailed me and told me the scoop with mike and that ktm. he/she doesn't post here or anywhere for that matter but sure does read the forums.
quote/unquote...............>
Mike Alessi is straight up getting smoked....because of that pile of shit KTM. Too slow, compared to those 450's. Look back at last year and you'll remember that Mike was a front runner and now that he's on that Shit Box 350, he can't get off the gate and gets pulled around the track, unless it's hard packed (Hangtown & Glen Helen).
so there you have it...bummer that POS 350 is the issue.

I agree with MotoDude Mike just needs to twist the throttle more.

Also, when did GH become a hardpack track?
Do i think Mike would be at the front with a Cairoli bike if that difference does exist? Not at all, but i dont think he would be getting beat quite as bad.
Why would the Alessis knowingly sign into a contract to race a 350 if it wasn't going to be competitive? If the bike is so bad then they have just proven themselves again to be the stupidest MX family in history.
Which Kawi team manager lined up back in the seventies to smoke his whole team so they would quit crying about the bike?
Cairoli-Alessi starting 1-2 at GP in GH. You need power to do that. I watched Red Bud starts, his reaction time was worse that my grandma's!
I can only assume he is choosing the 350F at this time.
And "IF" the bike was not as competitive at the Pro 450 level that doesn't mean it's a pile by any means. It would just mean at that level the riders are so matched so closely that an extra 5-7lb/ tq really makes a difference. We all know that not to be the case for the average track day enthusiast/ local racer since most actually go faster for longer on the slower 250Fs compared to the 450Fs..
If Alessi was still on the Suzuki, I think we would see him up front more often. Put him on one of the other 450's and I don't think he would have done so good.
Its not just down to the 100cc, I haven't checked it out but what were top 3 250 lap times compared to Mikes today? would be interesting to compare.
Pit Row
450 Moto 2
Alessi 2:13.684
250 Moto 2 (arguably a rougher track)
Canard 2:11.515
Wilson 2:11.392
Barcia 2:12.222
Bubba on 350... look out
but for the most part mike is a confidence racer and if the confidence is not there because of the scooter he will never get it back....on said scooter
Where did this info come from? A Honda 350 would be one mean sucker.
Is that some kind of a fuggin joke.....?
If that's true, it's all making sense now.
