I just read the article on feld and they said that they are trying to come to the northeast!
"When we asked about expanding the schedule to the Northeast, they mentioned that one of the problems with going into that area is a lack of covered stadiums, which makes booking an event in the area risky. While we were there, however, they did mention that they're working on trying to get an event into the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. They also took a crack at New York City, and the new Yankee Stadium, but deciced that the date they were working on was just a bit too close to the start of the baseball season. (Imagine being slayed by the New York press if they'd had wet weather, and the field had been anything less than immaculate for opening day.)"
To bad it wont happened till atleast 2012.....

And other than it's across the border in Canada, doesn't Toronto count as a NORTHeast event?
I really hope The Carrier Dome opens up for dirt events in the future, because until recently it would not host rodeo or monster trucks or SX, and Syracuse is the rare domed stadium in this part of the country.

The carrier dome is only 3 hours away, and im almost at the Ma/CT border so im sure all of the fans from there would go and still fans from buffalo and torronto could go because its close to them still.
The White Oak qualifier was the same weekend as the DC Supercross at RFK, but the weekend before or after RFK there was also a Loretta Lynn's qualifier at Aquasco that was absolutely swamped with torrential rain. That is why I remember it was 1983, as my hopes of making to Lorrettas on my KX80 were drowned in Aquasco mud! The day was similar to that 250 moto #2 at Budds last year-- there were actually flowing rivers and ponds on the track.
The guys that skipped the RFK to go to White Oak may have missed a good race, and also missed the last time we saw SX anywhere remotely close to us, but I remember they definatly picked the better weekend/venue to try to make it to Lorreta Lynns! LOL!
When the DC SX came to town I was in the hospital with a broken ankle. And no TV coverage so I could even watch it.
I remember thinking-- "don't worry, there is always next year!" Little did I know.

And, for the record, wasn't there snow/sleet in SLC? I recall it being a bit more than a mudder.
How about making a pit stop in the Northeast somewhere down the road?
Giants Stadium would be great..IF it had a roof and union costs weren't through the roof.
Syracuse would be the best chance to have SX for the Northeast crowd right now.
In all seriousness, the Carrier Dome would be sick venue for SX. It really is centrally located in the NE, and would draw fans from NY, PA, MA, VT, NJ, Canada, etc.
The area surrounding the dome is also condusive to good times following the races.
guarantee 60k crowd easy.
