Just some updates to your V20, not sure how to private message this or send it offline. But:
Walton Kawi will not be in Sidi boots in 2025 nor will MX101 be in Gaerne. The MX101 thing is a bummer as they've been with Gaerne for a few years.
Thanks. What boots will they be in?
Per the recent CMXU Podcast (12-Jan-25).
- KTM Canada claims all is ok budget wise, however, the series is painting a different picture;
- WLTN Kawasaki still in discussions with various riders for 2025 - both 250 & 450;
- Per the above, the series does get funding from KTM.
- Quinn Amyotte in confirmed talks with KTM Canada;
- St. Julie talked about as a possible national round;
- WCAN & Triple Crown Series schedules pending;

Matthes said this morning that Phil is going to Canada full 2025 season, who would that be with?
WLTN, maybe?
I know Kawi has been talking with Austin Politelli as well.
Phil said he has an offer from them but nothings signed.

"We’ve heard it’s possible we could only be out west for 2 rounds and that there’s even a chance we could only see 6 rounds total in 2025. I don’t think that’s likely to happen, but it’s questions like these that are forcing teams to hold off making any final roster decisions because it will affect the payment structure.
So, we need a schedule before more moves are announced. We’ll let you know when things get finalized, but, as of now, it’s all still just speculation and rumours"
Just to be clear, this is not the staff at the Triple Crown Series who are pushing for 6 rounds, this is what's being asked for from KTM.
At least make it an odd 7…
Update from Specmoto.ca from today regarding the series rumours

That's good data. Thanks.
There is no guarantee or contract with AVL racing and Troy Lee Designs for 2025 yet.
Both AVL riders have been TLD athletes and really like the product I understand but no agreement’s have been met for 2025.
v21 updated.
Maybe they don’t want to go West in only sprinter vans.
Pit Row
The team itself was actually sponsored by Mountain Sports Distribution and Fly last year. I don’t know if that’ll continue into this season. I know Sam was personally supported by TLD though.

(1) Is Phil Nicoletti coming back to Canada? He’s definitely in talks with the WLTN Kawasaki team. However, with the number of rounds still to be decided, it means funds haven’t been allocated just yet, so nobody can pull the trigger. But, suffice it to say, there is still a chance we see the grumpy old man back north of the border and going for the 450 title.
(2) 2025 schedule. Is it possible we drop down from 8 rounds to 6? It sounds like we’re heading into a year of uncertainty. I’ve even heard an all-east schedule has been floated. Someone go check on Al Dyck, please.
(3) Is Lars Van Berkel coming back to race here full time? If the answer is yes, look for him to be a title threat. He’s a professional beach racer and grabbed 3rd at Gopher Dunes a couple years ago on a borrowed bike on no sleep!-
(4) Dylan Walsh to WLTN Kawasaki. This one sounds like it may be a done deal and it will add a world class talent to our 250 class. Dylan is a British-born New Zealander.
(5) Adrien Malaval shopping his skills around Canada? The rider from France was set to ride for the newly-formed MX Deschambault team, but we’re hearing that there have been messages sent to various other teams.
According to a few Canadian MX podcasts/media, Tiger Wood is expected to be back with GDR Honda for 2025.
This would leave GDR with 3 250 riders:
1. Ryder McNabb (barring the two 250 championship(s) rule changes from the Triple Crown);
2. Noah Viney;
3. Tiger Wood.
What CDN Podcasts?
Most likely the CMXU pod and OFF the Gate pod.
Specmoto seems to be pretty knowledgeable about Cdn Mx.
Are we ready to admit that the Thompson take-over of the series has been a complete disaster?
Listened to both of those and theres no mention of Tiger Wood returning....Also not sure where the budget for 3 250 riders would come from
Viney paying his way?
Yeah, aside from the live broadcast, I don’t see anything that is objectively better than it was under the CMRC. And it seems like things have gone backwards each year, the opposite of what you’d expect.
The Triple Crown format was a unique idea and kudos to them for trying something new, but in the end it didn't work.
Leave AX for the West coast guys.
The live broadcast is a great addition, but it needs to be polished a lot. It hasn't improved much since they started airing the races live. The camera feed needs to improve a tonne. The feed drops and we get a black screen or a technical difficulties screen, constantly have sound issues, music in the background when there's someone on screen talking or the bikes are on track, etc. Things like that make it look unprofessional.
Personally, I think the broadcast needs to step things up and take themselves more seriously.
I like that they scaled back the 450 class to 30 riders. It would be great to have a 40 man gate, but a lot of those guys should not be out there. Even at 30 riders some of them shouldn't be out there.
TBH, I'm not sure why they're struggling to find a title sponsor. You would think live TV would be an asset, but it doesn't sound like it moved the needle much.
We need more fast guys in the 450 class.
Pretty spot on. Only thing I’d add is that if they were still attracting the caliber of outside riders they used to, limiting the 450 field wouldn’t be such a big deal. But yes, some of those guys are absolute hazards on the track.
The future Mrs and myself flew out from Sault Ste. Marie to Halifax to grab my practice/at home race bike from Coastal Moto. Currently waiting out the snow storm. Coastal Moto is going to stay more MRC Atlantic this year but we’re hoping to hit a few nationals, maybe all if it’s on East coast and a couple Atlantic Mx provincials.
I’m hoping the series can get back to its former glory. 2019 was a pretty awesome year! I was able to earn a 2 digit number. The 30 man rule for the 450 class took a bit to get use too but I’m all for seeing the series grow. Hopefully more solid riders can fill the gates!
