If Trump wants to move things in-house, then he should just start banning products from import until it's all in-house. Otherwise, all tariffs do is trick those that don't like feeding the gov't, into feeding the government while making them happy to do it.

Biden has 100% tariff on electric EV's from China and that's ridiculous. Just ban them you big ol' pussy, but don't milk consumers. And he has a bunch of tariffs on solar products at a time when people are trying to get more grid-free power. That's also ridiculous, more feeding the gov't machine at our expense. The only thing worse than that is doing it in a way that tricks people into thinking it's awesome. Not only is he taking cash out of our pockets, but he's making us looks bad for being happy about it while we're simultaneously praising them for it.

Ban every single product from China 100%.

That would be at least mid-term gnarly. The old classic Nokia 3310 would instantly be a grand and a new Samsung/iPhone would be ten. Black markets would soar our of control with border smuggling. It'd be a crazy time if it were a line-in-the-sand type of deal. I'm pretty down for some consumerism culture shock though...

Do you want to ban this?

Well I think the idea is that when you see something cool that someone else made and you haven't made it, then you should make it, not become a slave to the cool things that other people make.

I'd rather a president who talks like they are intelligent.  Referring to Canada as a state is something people would have said Biden should be locked up in a loony bin for (if he had done that). Talking shit about tariffs for all of these countries only hurts us, not sure how you guys don't see that but your wallet will feel it.

Before you respond Lungbutter, I'm not even defending Biden, just pointing out that if he said this shit people would call him delusional.

My wallet will feel it and what my wallet will feel is called WINNING! Tariffs work and tariffs will help American companies compete against low cost foreign goods. I already buy American whenever possible.

Not hell bent on this figure but I saw a headline that said the price of a laptop could go up 68% under Trumps tariffs, so like Lungbutter asked, please let us know how this helps anyone in the US?   I have close friends who are design engineers for a major laptop maker, they do not and will not start manufacturing them in the US.

"I buy US products whenever I can", sure but

A ) You can't get a lot of products within the US, that's just a fact and there aren't manufacturing plants ready to flip on the lights to start magically making these things in-house again.

B ) the general US population does not "buy US product as much as they can", they buy the cheapest (look at how much product amazon ships daily).

The usual suspects can downvote me for not sucking Trumps dick all you want but I work in manufacturing and I know a decent lay of the land. There are tons of products we buy (even food!) that will not be produced within the US because of tariffs, we'll all just pay more for it. Ironic because people are already bitching about prices of products.

I’m glad Trump won…but this is the kind of stuff that I just don’t understand about him…why even talk about changing the name of the gulf or making Canada a state?  It’s never going to happen, it’s so stupid to even give it any time…

I’m honestly not sure if he’s playing everyone or if the media at the press conference is playing him…with side bets on who can ask the question that will get the most ridiculous answer?  Who knows.

Just shut up sometimes, Donald…let your actions and policies do the talking and you can’t lose…only person who can beat Trump at this point is his own mouth.

I’m glad trump won because I can’t stand these sniveling liberals and their outright support of criminals, illegal immigration, mentally ill trannies and just degenerate behavior and causes in general. However, I think one would have to be quite deluded to think he’s going to flip the switch.

trump is here to support the existence of the .01%. The only difference is he gives the appearance that he cares about the working class.

Government is not in business to help you. They are here to exploit you and protect the property of the owners.

He is definitely entertaining though and at the very least a better representation of Americans on a superficial level.

I'm not a "trump guy" like some of these others are. I did vote for him because most of his policies are better than the policies of the left. I believe Trump Cuck's for Israel he's soft on guns, he makes promises where he speaks for other people without consulting them. Those people he speaks for do not always agree with Trump or the promises he made on their behalf. I agree that Laptops will probably cost more in the short term. Eventually someone will find a work around or build them here and pricing will adjust. It's safe to say there will be some growing pains just as there are currently with the present admin. I buy more fuel, groceries, and consumables than i do laptop so at the end of the year I can pay a bit more for a laptop since I saved thousands on my daily purchases, I need interest rates to come down and building materials. I build houses for a living and it's becoming impossible to build them for a reasonable price and even harder for the buyers because their payments are 2x what they should be.

He added $8 trillion to debt, so it's costing in the long term as well. Which I'm sure that will be taken as Biden love, which it's not, think he's actually added more. I only say it to oppose people thinking that Trump isn't a cash rapist just like all the others.

Not relevant.

My original question responded to a post calling someone a rapist.

I was curious who that was referring to.

There were so many court cases, it's hard to keep track!

Weird huh.... it's almost like they were trying to do anything and everything they could to make him look bad and keep him from winning the Presidency.

Especially since so many of those court cases were about things that had happened long ago, right?

It's kinda like the Liberals who have been crying like fucking bitches about Trump using "lawfare" are the ones who actually used it......

Oh well, guess it just goes to show how worthless the Liberal candidate was that she still couldn't win 'eh?

Public figures especially need to cross their t's and dot their i's, because someone's always gonna dislike what you have to say. Not so different from here.

All that Lawfare and The Donald still kicked Kamala/Willie’s Side Piece out of her gifted slot?

Damn. Imagine watching that happen…and still not getting it?

Wokesters. They’re amazing. Stupid; but, amazing nonetheless. 🤣

Trump was involved in ~ 4,000 legal cases before becoming president.

I'd argue his lawsuits during his time as president were more of a continuation of him being a shitty human than it was "the democrats doing anything and everything they could to make him look bad".

Kinda surprised such a staunch "non partisan" such as yourself can't see the obvious pattern.

Fair point, dudes a little bit of a doucher for sure.

But come on bro.... you're really gonna act like a ton of these recent cases aren't politically motivated?

I mean you really think it took this gal that he supposedly raped 30 years to come forward and politics had nothing to do with it?

Look dawg, I know that you are forever and blindly going to follow the Liberals, but you REALLY don't think any of this is politically motivated?
