My son rode the new CRF 250 pretty recently and gave me some feedback. We are currently riding all of the 25 250's in anticipation of going to 250's full time at the end of this year. He has a '21 YZ250F, has ridden the '25 CRF, as well as the '25 YZF and he will ride the '25 KX within the next couple weeks. His background is GNCC, at 13 years old he was floating around in the high 20's low 30's overall in the adult morning race last year on a 125 and spends every weekend on a motocross track. Basically what he said was that the CRF feels good every where, and turns well. He said "I can definitely race the Honda, but I prefer the feel of the Yamaha". Thats probably because hes been riding a Yamaha since 2018 on a 65. I like the fact that he didnt hate the Honda, but i want to make sure that he ends up on the 250F that hes most comfortable on.

Let us know what he thinks about the Kawasaki in motocross compared to the other two bikes when he has tested it 😉

Honestly, for the situation you’re describing, the Honda might be a better choice.  It is over 1 horsepower slower and down by a 1/2 ft/lb of torque compared to any other 2025 250.   Slower bikes typically always handle better in my experience, and arm jerking horsepower is not necessarily a benefit in a 2+ hour off-road race.

I watched all the crf 250 works edition test. It’s supposed to be quick with more low to mid.  Real fun to ride they all said the ovr 10k price was worth it. Because the mods work so good.
