Figured I’d make a build thread of the 99 I’m currently building.  Basic background of the bike is the guy I bought my 04 250 from threw it in for free since he wanted it out of his yard,  seems to have been sitting for who knows how long and was said to have ran not to long ago according to him.  A lot of spray paint all over the chassis and rtv all over the motor also missing a bunch of parts. First pic is how I got the bike I didn’t take very many before pictures but you get the picture, also a couple pics of the cases before vapor blasting.   As of now I have the motor together all vapor blasted and rebuilt bottom and top end to top it off with some fresh nickel plated bolts. Next step is frame off to powder and getting new bushings/bearings into the frame and swingarm once I get it back.  We’ll go from there. 849F77B8-CF64-48EC-8419-D79AE2D4D3E3

Little update on this build, I’ve not had much time to put towards it with starting a new job but have got a few parts gathered.

Seems like it’s going to be a good build! Are you going to do anything to the 2004?

So I ended up selling my 04 since I traded my crf110 for a clean 2007 Kx250 !  The plan with the 07 is a long list haha, I’ll make a build thread on that also !047D39D9-7EFD-4929-A81A-951BDBA1B1EC

Assuming you’re talking about the cover on the right as the replica? I’m looking for an original if anyone has one please? Or even a replica with the proper gripper materials even if it doesnt have the patches? Thanks

The left is the good replica. He modeled them after an original, I’ve never had an original so I can’t say if it’s exact or not, but it’s light years ahead of the one on the right from dare

Little update for you guys but not much !  Couple more carbon goods arrived and got the carb all cleaned up and rebuilt.  Waiting on gussets and tabs for the frame and after I get those welded up the frame can get sent off to powder.  Once that’s back I’ll be able to make some big progress on the bike and have some good pics coming in !

You weren't joking when you said really good replica, awesome job. That Dare one is fit for the bin 😂

Dlux, nice work saving this one, the Rustoleum green swingarm/fork/bars combo makes you wonder what these people think doesn't it. Solid work so far and the 250 looks sweet too 👍

Couple pictures and updates.  Getting stuff mocked up before I seam weld and weld skid plate/water pump guard tabs on the frame before powder.  The frame under the bike now is cracked and headtube is rounded out so it’s being replaced. A lot more parts have showed up as well, nos flo green fenders and front plate, seat cover, 02 pc triple clamps nos bottom, more carbon etc.. the list is never ending.
