Does Brown deserve to keep his number

Mike Brown keeps his number for another year.

3 is a pretty cool number.

I think it is a bit selfish to race a few rounds only to keep his number.

He never won a big bike championship.

I think Mike should make his number free so some current champs can use it.

Jeremy is a good example on how it should be done.

What do you mean he hasn't won a big bike championship? He won a 125 outdoor title? Even Villopoto hasnt won a big bike title yet! Does that mean he should give up the #2? Brownie has been around longer than any of these guys! Just because he doesnt race every weekend doesnt mean he should have to give up the number that he has earned dude. Rules are rules bro... I mean serious? Henry raced with the #19 forever...

The fact is if every rider wants to keep there top 10 number for many years after they stop racing full time just to keep a number we will soon run out of top 10 numbers for riders that also deserve a top 10 number.

I think to make it fair riders that retire from full time racing should retire there number after 1 or 2 years so others champs can run a top ten number.
RV is still racing full time so he deserves a top 10 number.
How long does Brown want to keep his number?
Is it fair for him to race 2 races a year and keep the number and stop some other champ from using it?

If your championship is more than 5 years old you lose the number.That might work.

Jeremy retired his number when he could of kept it by doing a few races every year.
RV is now getting benefit from that Number eg Sponsors, Fans etc.
There could be some new champ in the next few years that could benefit from that No 3.
If Brown wants to keep the number for another 5 years it is a waste of a great Number.

Totally agree with you on this one, he absolutely deserves to keep the number as he has earned it. When he is ready to let it go he will.

Brownie earned the number by the rules at the time and is keeping it the same way. I doubt you'll hear any of the actual racers crying about it. The real question about his number is why in the world an old man can still earn points and even make it debatable. As far as all that goes, Mike Brown is the best money KTM has spent since they hired Everts. If Alessi utters even one negative word about the 350 they should park him and put Brown on it. Everts would put that bike in the top five every moto.

john dowd still does the same thing, these guys are badass! anyone at that age that only does one or two a year? and still finish well, deserves to keep a number he earned........

Bring back the old # system. They changed it because "general public" fans get used to seeing Stewart #7 or Reed #22.. Who cares! Change it back to the old # system please.

Im also talking about riding outdoors all year, testing, etc. I know he on the WORCS title 08 or 09.

the difference between dowd and brown is that, brown has a single digit #. I think there should be a minimum for single didgit # holders after they retire from full time racing. there is only 9 single digit #s,(not counting zero, idk if zero is a legal number) and there is 91 two digit #s. seems like imo there should be a time limit for single digit # holders, being that there is so little of them, be 2 years or whatever

If this is such an issue why hasn't anyone taken 6 for their number? This number has been available for years.
