I don't know enough about the time before the video of this incident to have a solid opinion on it, to be honest.  It doesn't seem like Jordan Neely did anything that rose to the level of having deadly force used, but it's difficult to know for sure what a reasonable person would be feeling about the threat level felt by those present.  

It sounds like a jury deemed that there must have been enough of a threat to use deadly force.  They saw a lot more actual evidence than I have, of course, so I'll take their word for it right now.  It's just a shame, though, that someone had to die like this when it might not have been necessary.  I hope that Mr. Penny really feels the way he claims, that Neely was a threat to kill someone, or else he may have a lifetime of guilt ahead of him.  

Like in the thread where the healthcare CEO was killed, it'd sickening to see anyone celebrate this type of killing.  If Neely was pointing a gun or waiving a knife at someone it would be a completely different issue, at least to me.  This one just sucks for everyone involved, but it's better to assume that Penny was innocent than to convict him simply based on emotion.  

Your reference to deadly force was Bragg’s argument. The jury struck it down. Twice.

If you take the time to see what was in Neely’s blood and then other health-factors involved…

Of you take the time to read or listen to the testimony of those that were there and stated, on the record, that Jordan Neely was high-as-fuck & threatening the riders in that train…

Or that he was on an NYC list of the 50 most dangerous homeless people that were a risk to themselves and others (NOT ALLOWED AS FUCKING EVIDENCE, btw)…

Or if we observe that Daniel Penny’s full-name isn’t worth being recognized by too many apologists versus their obvious and intentional use Jordan Neely’s full-name…that’s something that’s a bit too obvious…

What appears to be recognized…Penny restrained a threat to himself & others on that train. The restraint appears to be a contributing factor to Neely’s death…along with the DRUGS in his system…and other contributing factors of his ill-health  as determined in the courtroom…all of it…sad as hell.

The saddest parts? The death of Jordan Neely & How the DA ran this case and “why” he went after Daniel Penny.
