Now they are saying that the words deny, depose, defend were written on the shell casings.

Edit: the suppressor and what seemed like a calm demeanor made me think it was a pro, but add in the jamming and the word on the casings, who knows.

I do travel nursing for a career so insurance is an insure for me. I tried to buy insurance outside so I don't always have to be changing, This route is more expensive but one would think better as you never have to worry about coverage. I like to take 4-6 weeks off in between contracts so it provided some security.

I can't even get outside insurance that is worth a shit because I take gabapentin. Regardless of why you take gabapentin insurance links it to diabetes. I had a pretty bad hip socket/ruptured bladder/compound distal femur fracture and after surgery I was left with a great repair of all that but it left me with left foot nerve damage. That 's why I take gabapentin but for insurance reasons I have diabetes and there was no way to fix that. I tried.

So, now I just let the travel nurse company insurance expire and pic up cobra for a couple months when needed.  Yes Cobra is a little more expensive and there is about a 3-4 week before they send the damn cobra paperwork. Like now I am in that lull (finished contract 2 weeks ago and will return after new year) waiting on Cobra paperwork.  if something happened they would still pay as the go back the effective end date but you would have to pay out of pocket then get reimbursements.  I don't want to do that bullshit. For this reason I am not riding mx until I get the paperwork. I wish it would hurry the fuck up, lol

Damn. That SUCKS. Sorry about your situation.

Some crazy questions, maybe? Is there a way to “self-bond” for medical coverage? Would that have tax benefits? Or…can you get a life insurance policy that includes major injury coverage?

I've never actually heard of those routes.   I'll check that out. Should just live in Cali and get that calicaid shit they give all the people out there that don't work!  I can't tell you the number of homeless that came in with that free insurance (not that I have a shit) but here we are, the working class and have to fight for coverage. They be proud of it also. " I got calicaid"!  Not sure I'm saying it right but it supposedly covers people Medicaid won't cover.

Hits you a little different when you see people younger and healthier than you coming into the ER several times a week. Most of us try not to go as there is usually a high copay and extra shit. Usually minimum $500. Hell that buys bike parts for us. Lol Im just talking shit. Thanks for the heads up though.

WE (gf is rn as well) did two stints in Cali (Santa Rosa and Merced).  Santa Rosa, we thoroughly enjoyed, Merced, uh-NO!!

Waiting on those cobra payment so I can ride with the grandson!

Seems like any current event turns political when you read comments on social media. I found it interesting that this one really did not, like ev everyone has a common ground. Right or wrong big business should be taking notes

I have multiple suppressors.....

Also can't remember the last time any of my 9mm malfunctioned on me. Have thousands of rounds through a couple of them and would think a pro would be using something just as reliable.

The words on the casings are supposedly a reference to a book about insurance companies denying claims.

Seems very much like a personal thing to me and not some high level operation. Bet they catch the guy within a week.

My wife takes Gabapentin for her hot flashes. She is healthy, not diabetic or pre diabetic.

We met a guy last year, a guy in his mid 70's and relatively fit accept for some bad back pain. He takes gabapentin for it and smokes some weed. Since, we have heard multiple times about people taking it and what a range of things it can treat.

Anyways, we get health insurance through the company she works for. I'll ask if it effects our rates.

Exactly. And the reports are saying the way he cleared the jammed bullets a couple of times indicated a professional. Or at least someone very very familiar with firearms.

It has several uses now days. Some use it for anxiety as well. In the last few years some of these little stupid shit drug heads have found it gives them a high. So now it's controlled. We have to count the shit just like we do narcotics when we go to pull meds for patients.

The most common use is for neuropathy that is brought on by diabetes. Also every diabetic takes it for the burning/nerve pain. Mainly cause it's the cheaper of other meds used for it like lyrica. The stuff does work. My foot feels like it's in a fire if I forget to take a dose. I usually miss the middle of the day one. Doesn't take long to remember oh shit I forgot. Then, it usually takes a couple hours for it to work. I've learned to live with it.

But I despise being labeled as a diabetic for insurance reasons. I know this is true with BCBS, United and freedom life.

At a minimum he expected the firearm to act that way. He pulls the trigger and immediately moves to cycle the slide without a hint of panic.

I am far from a professional and the way he cleared the pistol is pretty standard stuff if you shoot much. I have a 22 pistol that I use to teach people to shoot with and it jams constantly.  Clearing it like that is totally mindless at this point. Definitely someone who is comfortable with guns though.

Yes. I know we’re speculating here, but I couldn’t imagine a random Joe being that composed in a stress filled situation like that. This was not his first rodeo.

My wife has the same experience as you. If she forgets to take her pill before she goes to bed, her body will let her know by giving her a middle of the night hot flash.

She says because we have insurance on a group plan, it doesn't effect our rates.

I heard that he had a slide lock on the gun (or something like that, cannot recall exactly what they called it).

So the gun was not jamming, just had to be manually reloaded after each fire. Which is why he did it so quickly, he knew he had to manually load the next round. They said the slide lock (?) is quieter than the automatic reload is why he used it.

No idea if that is true, or if I am even using the correct term, just heard some FBI guy talking about that on TV but it made more sense than the gun jamming after every round.

I spend time around both sides of the aisle and this might be the first time in about 10 years that I'm seeing this level of alignment on a topic.

Unmasked pictures of man the police are looking for.

Odd, the unmasked guy isn't wearing the same jacket or backpack as the man filmed doing the shooting 🤨

I wonder when the unmasked picture was taken? The morning of, when he went to Starbucks to get coffee?

professional is my guess. this shit was straight out of a GTA mission. follow the dude, pop him with silenced pistol and subsonic rounds, ride a bicycle into central park, ditch the bike for a different vehicle, boom mission accomplished.

crazy.

as for the pistol jamming multiple times, that's why i brought up subsonic rounds. i've shot them with my Ruger 22 and they fail to eject either every round or every other round.

You could buy suppressors off of wish and the other chinese web sites,  so I guess that is where professional hit men shop now. His pistol malfunctioned a couple times also so it was probably a cheap Taurus or along the same line.

I think only in Kentucky are Silencers etc legal.

It's a harder felony then a cocaine possessio  bust.

I could easily buy one for my Walther .22 that's not the problem , there illegal  as Fk !

* Joe kenda narrated American Crime if I recall so there is a few shows out there.

I have his book , I'm done with it.

Pm me your address , it's yours

Sounds like a weapons grade FAFO to me.

There will be lots of people suddenly scurrying for cover.

I suggest this will go away very quickly.

If he didn't do it because of an insurance claim, the words on the casings would be a good way to tie up the investigation looking at insurance claims.

I've been boned by health insurance companies. I'm surprised this is the first nut to do this. I don't approve of killing anyone. Health insurance bs has cost many peoples lives. Therefore, I'm indifferent on this.

A few thoughts…

My money is on personal, not a hit.

-It’s easy to be calm when you don’t GAF anymore, which is where you’d likely be at mentally to do something like this for personal reasons, particularly if those reasons primarily involve watching someone you love suffer/die, in part or whole because an insurance company cared more about bottom line and stock price.

-as mentioned, silencers aren’t super difficult to get legally where allowed (just a wait for the stupid tax stamp baloney). Even easier to get if you don’t care about the legalities because you’re about to commit murder.

-a pro isn’t going to use an auto handgun without a casing collection device, particularly when the casings have unique markings (unless it was a deliberate attempt to throw off the investigators).

-a pro isn’t going to allow their face to be clearly displayed on video surveillance, or make stops in the area where people could later become witnesses after seeing them…the goal is getting in anonymously, doing the job, and slipping away anonymously.

Unless this was a hit man (woman) from Temu or wish.com, it’s an awful lot of errors to be a pro.

On the jamming weapon front, my ex brother in law had a Taurus copy of a Beretta 92…that thing would jam (fail to feed, etc) one or more rounds per mag fired, every mag. Absolute POS.
